I am a fine arts major and a range such as this was necessary and honestly a great price for the quantity and quality. Pencils come pre-sharpened. The tin lid is on a hinge so it’s always attached so it can take up a bit of space (I use it to hold other tools when I’m drawing. Overall quality is fantastic.

Nice quality and work well for my needs. I normally work 100% digitally, from sketch to finished work. However, lately I felt the need to sketch things out with pencil and paper. This set covers all my bases from very light sketching to get basic form, to darkening the settled on outline, to shading etc. My scanner picks up the pencils well, and Im able to use the sketch as a basis for a finished digital piece. They also sharpen well (which can be a problem with cheaper pencils) and come in a sturdy tin case. If this set (6B-4H) technically covers your drawing/sketching needs, then I can fully recommend this set.

solid high quality german made pencils with quality graphite. one thing to note about these pencils: the 7b and 8b are not really graphite, they are a carbon based blend that causes the pencil to grip the paper and make more noise. This also means they are very dark and not shiny like graphite. They are far darker than any graphite pencil. the remaining four harder pencils are a more typical graphite pencil, and also are very dark and very smooth. Derwent graphic 9b is lighter in shade the staedlter lumograph 6b. As an added bonus, the difference in darkness between the 6b, 4b,2b, and hb is basically nothing, despite the lead being harder.

Best set of pencils I have bought so far. I tried many types. Love these. My lead has not broke once from sharpening on the softer pencils. There’s a slight shine still with the softer pencils but nothing compared to cheaper pencils I have bought. I love the long range of variety from hard to soft. The case that it comes in is weak at the hinges it popped off and bent. It’s tin. However the pencils are high quality and I’m very happy.

These are good pencils covering a large range. Likely wont need all of these for typical work but nice to have. Be aware theres no padding in the shipment so had to return the first one since it had been crushed in hsipping.

I could feel a difference from the moment I started sharpening. It was a nice smooth turn to a nice fine tip. The graphite glides across the page without chipping and erases easy. I like the distinct design and overall performance.

Just got them and surprisingly LOVE them and the 8B is the darkest of any brand if you are looking for a really dark black. I actually bought a dozen Conte Extra Fine Drawing Pencil in 2B (French) because they are so black, but you cannot use them until the very end of your drawing as they are waxy and do not lift well, so it is not a good idea to use them for layering until the very end when you are adding the finishing touches to your piece. Also, you need a very light tough otherwise the lead breaks off and can create quite a mess. And to tell you the truth, I did not think that I would like these, have no idea why, but bought them as I was told that the 8B was really dark black, which is a hard value to achieve. So, I would say that statement is correct, and this brand has the darkest 8B of any brand and I have used Prismacolor, Derwent, Faber-Castell 9000, Cretacolor. My favourite being Derwent, as it also has water soluble and coloured graphite which is fabulous. Actually I am not that impresses with Faber-Castell 9000 as they are scratchy and I think damage the paper, and off course make it harder to lift without leaving impressions. Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

Son buenos lápices pero ni el 8b llega a un negro absoluto
