> 3 dayThese are AMAZING! Ive been dabbling on and off with pencil sketches - mostly regular drawing pencils. Tried Derwent and liked it a lot. But THIS !! I LOVE the feel of sketching with my Staedtlers. The graphite feels almost creamy in how smooth the fall is on paper and it builds and blends beautifully. I cant go back to using anything else now.

> 3 dayLove these drawing pencils! I bought a different set from the store, horrible, waste of money. These Staedtler drawing pencils blend beautifully, sharpen to a fine point, and have a wonderful range of tones. I had another set from years ago that I lost, and have always been extremely satisfied. I bought a small two hole hand sharpener of the same brand, and it works much better than the crank handle sharpener Ive been using for the past 60 years. I highly recommend these drawing pencils, and I will purchase again as needed. Love the tin, too.

Greater than one weekQuality is as remembered! Great product at a very affordable price. I love the metal tin case because it was something that saved my pencils from being broken at times. I can be quite tough on my stuff so my old case of pencils has some battle scars but despite those scars the pencils are still thriving! Thanks

> 3 dayThese pencils can be an artists best friend. Shading is actually easy when you use one of these.

> 3 dayi was going to buy a cheaper graphite pencil set. i really didnt have a clue. ive done all of my drawing w #2 writing pencils. a customer who gave an exceptional review, pointed out the shortcomings of the cheaper product. he actually presented a mini-lesson on what the numbers and letters of the pencils meant. what constitutes a good pencil, sharpener, etc. what i, and many other customers appreciated, was that he also gave his suggestions for a good pencil. he recommended staedtler mars lumograph. he was so thorough that i felt comfortable and bought the set. he suggested buying individual pencils, but id have to drive several miles to do that. i paid a few extra dollars to have this basic set delivered to my home. because i have this starter kit, i can, when im at the arts store, pick up a few of, the ones i most use. i feel that ive made a sound purchase w this kit thatll hold me over. theyre professional grade, sharpen easily w/o breaking the lead, with a good metal sharpener. they erase w/o leaving dark impressions. with a good metal sharpener, they have nice points. the lead doesnt break fr a bit of pressure. also, important to we, whore losing high visual definition, is that the pencil grade is in large print, at the top of the pencil, contrasted boldly, white on black. the metal pencil holder means transportability. each pencil sits snuggly in its own well. no hunting for the right pencil, no digging at the bottom of a tote and finding the point broken. if there is an art store near you, you can save by getting them individually. i prefer having them in the metal case. either way this is a good pencil kit.

> 3 dayI am a fine arts major and a range such as this was necessary and honestly a great price for the quantity and quality. Pencils come pre-sharpened. The tin lid is on a hinge so it’s always attached so it can take up a bit of space (I use it to hold other tools when I’m drawing. Overall quality is fantastic.

> 3 dayI feel very in control with these pencils. They make even shading notably easier than other brands I have used. I can achieve values 2 to 15 very predictably. The lead very rarely breaks during sharpening unlike other brands I have owned. I will continue to use these for sure.

> 3 daysolid high quality german made pencils with quality graphite. one thing to note about these pencils: the 7b and 8b are not really graphite, they are a carbon based blend that causes the pencil to grip the paper and make more noise. This also means they are very dark and not shiny like graphite. They are far darker than any graphite pencil. the remaining four harder pencils are a more typical graphite pencil, and also are very dark and very smooth. Derwent graphic 9b is lighter in shade the staedlter lumograph 6b. As an added bonus, the difference in darkness between the 6b, 4b,2b, and hb is basically nothing, despite the lead being harder.
