> 3 dayOur garage is pressed for space, so I was happy to find these for our new Aventon Pace 350s. Mounting took some time and tools but its worth the effort. The bikes hang securely and are easily accessed. We had to use a bungie to keep them away from the car but its a simple solution and works perfectly. The bike on the right needs a slight adjustment so the handlebars clear the front tire of the other bike. Ive got the bikes off the floor and the 2 1/4 tires fit this 2.4 rack securely. Ive got them bolted to studs each with the 4 supplied bolts. They arent moving and the 50lb bikes are held securely. I did ding these a star because one of the caps over the bolts on the end broke. Trying to get the cap off one of the latches on the side broke off on the rack side. Fortunately it was a top cap so the cap still covers but is not secured. This is a bad design and its hard to get the caps on and off and they are easy to break. Be careful with this part of the assembly (remove and replacement.) This is literally the worst part of the installation. The instructions are very clear about how to measure and install. Back the bike against the wall and place the rack flat on the floor with the tire mounted, as if it was on the wall. Measure to the bottom of the rack and theres your starting point on the wall. I bumped mine 2 so the tires would not drag and this works well. There is a part at the back tire lower on the wall that is V shaped and does not hold our tires at all. That could also be improved. Once the rack is mounted and the bike hanging you can put the V behind the lower tire and mark its place. Remove the bike and mount the V. I wish it was U shaped like the rack. This is a good rack solution for your bikes if it fits your needs. Just be careful with the end covers (caps.)

> 3 dayI installed two of these racks in a trailer. The rack is very easy to load the bike onto, and once the bike is mounted, it is very convenient to be able to pivot the bike right or left (superb design). This rack would work perfectly as designed if installed in a garage or house. But to use in a trailer that is being pulled down the road, around curves and over bumps, we added a few modifications. First we added easy-to-find velcro straps to prevent the front tire from coming out of the rack when we hit bumps. Second, we added a small chain and spring clip to secure the back tire in the lower mount. Finally, we added a chain and spring clip system to limit the swing of the rack and keep the bikes against the wall of the trailer when driving down the road. Everything unclips in seconds and the bikes are easily dismounted. This system is very convenient, since you can swing the bike in the rack to one side or the other to allow for storing other items in the trailer and for easy access to load and unload the bikes. The rack itself mounts easily to the wall and is very high quality. We expect many years of use from this product. We have had 4 very expensive bicycle racks for receiver hitches (obviously a different application), but this is the easiest rack we have owned to load and unload. Loading the bikes on this rack is more about technique than strength, which makes it perfect for those of us in our late 60s to load as well.

> 3 dayThe removable cap/cover that you need to remove to install this is extremely tough to get off. The clips (on the main housing side) that holds to the cap can break and did in one area. Not happy but can live with it. The hinge are ultra stiff on my that makes it almost impossible to swivel. Slight loosening on one of the bolt helps dramatically. Otherwise it is a good solid unit.

> 3 dayI just finished mounting this rack to my wall. IMHO this is THE wall mount for a fat tire bike. I have a Kona with 5 wide tires. The bike weighs 35 lb. With this rack it is easy to get the bike in the rack. My suggestion however is to only mount this rack onto a stud. Forget the plastic drywall inserts included in the package. Good quality hardware is provided, just use a stud finder and mount directly to a wooden stud. I used a 3/16 drill bit for the upper bracket mounting pilot holes and a 1/8 drill bit for the 2 lower bracket. Bracket swivels a bit. The standard hook type wall mounts are not going to work for my 5 fat tire bike. If you gently squeeze the sides of the plastic bolt covers, the covers come off without breaking as mentioned in another review. This is not mentioned in the instructions. Well made product that works. Heres a photo of my completed installation.

> 3 dayThis is the best solution for bike storage. It is sturdy and securely holds the bikes even without the lower back tire cup/guide. It was easy to install and is simple to use. Total bonus that they hinge such that 2 bikes can nestle closer taking up less space. The bikes also arent quite vertical as the wall is not uniform in thickness: thicker foundation wall at the bottom with frame/drywall above it. It still is secure. Our garage is pretty tight, and I have no concerns of a bike falling on the car parked nearby even if jostled or bumped.

Greater than one weekI couldnt be happier with this bike rack. I purchased three and love being able to have our bikes off the ground. The pivot feature is fantastic because you can hang them close together and still get to the bike you need. This is a huge space saver (we live in an urban area and have very little storage space). I was able to install them myself fairly easily. The only thing I didnt have was a socket wrench that is required for the lag bolts (borrowed one from a neighbor). This is one of my favorite purchases and one you wont regret. Watch a few installation videos before starting; that really helps.

> 3 dayThis is the best bike storage option I have found. I tried a few less expensive ones, but they didnt work near as well as this design.

> 3 dayI was really really happy when I received my steady rack. It looked to be of good quality. I even told 3 of my friends about it. But when I went to install my Steady Rack Fender Version that’s when the problems started Once I figured out that I had to “bend” the Bike Fender supports to make it work/fit i was able to get my bike in the channel (The instructions didn’t tell you this part ). My bike rolls on nicely and steady rack seems to support the bike well. Now the bad… If you don’t have a socket driver set it’s almost impossible to screw in the bolts because the plastic housing is really close to where you screw the bolt heads so a regular Vise grips or wrench won’t work. Also (see photos) I measured my back wheel and the lower tire rest on the fender version was just a hair not wide enough. So the bike doesn’t pivot like they show because it just slips around and actually made small scratches on my rim!!! I Contacted Manufacturer asking for a larger size tire rest and they told me I could BUY one on their website for $9.99 each plus ship! Not happy with this!!! They charge ALOT for this product $$189 for two racks and for this price Steady Rack needs to stand behind their products better. This little wheel rest is a cheap piece of plastic that Probably costs them .25 cents to make.they could have made a customer happy. So this product went from being something that could have been great to being a big disappointment

Greater than one weekI was hesitant at first by the price because I needed 2. But after the easy install and ease of use, I couldn’t be more than happy to recommend this to everyone that wants a vertical rack that also saves space. Just do it, pull the trigger and buy this rack, you won’t regret it.

18-11-2024These are the best bike racks available IMO. I wish they weren’t so expensive, but I have no regrets. I was skeptical, but they can indeed hang 16” apart. I installed all of them into studs and they are very sturdy. The only reason for the wide spacing you see in the photo is the location of the electrical outlet. I used one mountain rack for a wider tire MTB, one fender rack for a TT, and four classic racks for the road bike and a MTB with non-knobby tires. The varying heights helps accommodates 4 road bikes and two mountain bikes, one of which has bar ends. This makes it possible to pivot the bikes farther without parts of one bike hitting the next. We don’t have any trouble parking two cars and having the bikes at 90 degrees, but we typically keep them at an angle of around 50 degrees. They are easy to pivot. I mounted the racks higher on the wall because our road bikes are lightweight, and I wanted the heaviest mountain bike (far right rack) to be a couple of inches off the floor for any necessary sweeping. Plus it’s not really that heavy. I’ve not yet had a chance to mount the rear wheel rests on the two racks on the left due to bike maintenance.
