We had bike hooks on an Ikea Elfa garage rack. It was hard to get a full size bike on to those and the rubber stuff on the hooks kept ripping and coming off. Major pain. Installed one of these for my wifes bike and it works great. I will be reconfiguring our wall storage to accommodate more of these. One caution: the listing says the standard size will work up to 2.4 tires. it wont Ive tried Furthermore, the box it comes in says maximum size is 2.2 I was able to get my sons 2.25 tires to work with very little room to spare, but my 2.35 front tire will NOT work. My advice -- if your tires are bigger than 2.2 get the mountain version.

I purchased this for my husband. We installed it on a wall of about 10 inches between a window and a cabinet on the adjacent wall that we occasionally get into in our garage. It saves floor space, we can very easily swing it out of the way to get into the cabinet and it holds his bike securely with no damage to the light weight road bike. We will be purchasing another one or maybe even two to use for our other bikes. I can’t believe how good this works and how secure the bike feels!

Very well made, came with very heavy duty bolts...not sure that is needed unless your bike is made of lead..having said that...rather have too study than too flimsy. Getting the height right is a tad tricky...rear tire must be off the ground...but... not that hard... I mounted to wooden post in my garage, and it works outstanding!! I do wish you could lock it into place...as it does tend to move a bit when loading..but that is minor. Overall, really happy with it, does what I want...although I dont smile when loading my bike like in their videos... :-)

This rack excels in saving space without compromising accessibility. I’ve been using the Steadyrack ‘Fender’ and ‘Classic’ models for the last 6 months and they’ve worked great. I’m now done with the ‘ceiling hoist’ racks, and my teenage daughter can now put her own bike away. Pros: - saves space - Allows bikes to swing or pivot against the wall - Bikes can be mounted as close as 14” apart and still pivot against the wall - Relatively simple installation and online videos available - Simple to put bike up and down Cons: - not the cheapest solution - Drywall anchors included are inadequate (try and use a wall stud) I use the Steadyrack Fender racks to hold two 26” beach cruisers with large front fenders. The bikes are held vertically with the rear tire just off the ground. Just tip the bike up on its rear wheel and roll it onto the rack, and swing the bike to the side until the handlebar meets the wall (tires remain against wall while bike rotates to either side). Installation considerations: - Installation instructions state bikes can mount as close as 14”. This works for similar bikes (two beach cruisers or two mountain bikes), but with different bike types the handle bars can interfere with each other. You need to move them farther apart or stagger one higher off the ground. - Drywall anchors included are totally inadequate. Do not use these to mount into Sheetrock without a stud. I suggest using Snaptoggle type anchors (Home Depot, etc.). One reviewer marked this product down for the poor wall anchors. This isn’t unique to this product, included anchors are usually junk. Weight bearing items usually mount to a wall stud for support. I prefer not to pay extra for a product to include quality anchors, and if needed I purchase my own. If your priorities are space and convenience I strongly suggest you look at this rack. The ceiling racks I used were hard for my wife and I to use, and way too difficult for my kids. The bikes just weren’t getting used. I hope this review is helpful in selecting a bike storage solution.

This is the best solution for bike storage. It is sturdy and securely holds the bikes even without the lower back tire cup/guide. It was easy to install and is simple to use. Total bonus that they hinge such that 2 bikes can nestle closer taking up less space. The bikes also arent quite vertical as the wall is not uniform in thickness: thicker foundation wall at the bottom with frame/drywall above it. It still is secure. Our garage is pretty tight, and I have no concerns of a bike falling on the car parked nearby even if jostled or bumped.

The idea for this product is sheer genius: a rack that allows you to hang your bike on the wall and pivot it out of the way so that it takes up less room. The SteadyRack holds your bike securely and, unlike many wall hooks, doesnt put any tension on the wheel spokes. The racks sold here are black, as opposed to the grey or yellow models shown in some of the photos. If you have fenders installed on your bike, these racks simply wont work. The description refers to a version that will, but I couldnt find any evidence of its existence... The instructions make installing a single rack relatively painless. Unfortunately, they provide no guidance on how to space the racks when installing more than one. On a wall that has studs spaced 16 apart, it can be difficult to place a rack on every stud unless the handlebars are narrow (think: road racing bikes) or the racks are placed so that the handlebars are at different heights. If you have the space, placing racks on every other stud (i.e. 32 apart) is probably the way to go. The only real downside to this product, and the reason for the 4-star rather than 5-star rating, is the price. If you have 3-4 bikes to store, the cost starts to add up fast!

Would have preferred the mtn version take up to a 3.0 tire rather than maxing out at 2.8. Forced me to go up to the fat version, which is wider and does not fold into the wall as tight since the rack contacts the wall sooner. Other than that the system is study and easy(ish) to install.

These were so easy to install. The only thing missing from the directions were how far apart to space multiple racks but a quick site search found the answer on their HELP section. The fact that you can swivel them to the side is awesome and an important requirement for me was that my kids can get them on and off without me. Hanging bikes from the ceiling was not going to work for that. Now in the video the little kid made it looks effortless. I will day for my daughter who is shorter it was a little bit more challenging than how they have it shown, but a little practice should fix that up easily.

These racks are well worth the price. Very easy to install and work perfectly. So glad we made this purchase!

At first I when I saw the product I though it was fantastic. The price made me hesitate but it’s worth it! Purchased 5 for the family and we love them. Staggered the height on every other one by 3” to create room for handle bars/access. Given the studs are every 16” inches it is compact yet helps give more garage space. Can even tilt/angle!! Huge fan!

Steadyrack Wall Guide - StaggeredSteadyrack Wall Guide - Staggered

Save Wall Space - Staggered

Limited wall space? You can stagger the racks to overlap your bikes, with Steadyracks placed as close as 350mm (1ft 2in) apart. For mountain bikes or other wider handlebar bikes, racks should be placed 406mm (1ft 4in) apart. Great for apartments and small sheds.

Steadyrack Wall Guide - LevelSteadyrack Wall Guide - Level

Maximize Floor Space - Level

Maximize your floor space by hanging your racks at the same height and further apart. A minimum of 600mm (2ft) gap between the Steadyracks will allow for the optimum pivot range. For mountain bikes or other wider handlebar bikes, racks should be placed 813mm (2ft 6in) apart. Great for garages.
