Greater than one weekI am impressed with this Streamlight Size D lantern. PROS: The light output is quite amazing at 340 lumens on high setting with a fresh set of batteries installed. Unlike the lanterns of yesteryear, there are no messy fuels or bulky propane canisters to deal with. This lantern is waterproof and high quality. CONS: Energy source - Requires three size D batteries, which are somewhat heavy and bulky. Weight - This lantern is rather heavy for its size with three size D batteries installed. Country of origin - This lantern is made in China. I would prefer that Streamlight manufactured this lantern in the USA. However, you cannot tell it was made in China, as the quality of the lantern is excellent. Overall, a quality lantern

> 3 dayAwesome little lantern. The clips and handle make this great for camping, and the settings are similar to great headlamps (brightness, flashing, red).

> 3 dayI have used a couple of these and loved them while building a new home before electricity was installed. Since, I use one in my car. Recently, we had a major windstorm in Salt Lake City and I was happy to loan mine to my sister whose electricity was out for three days. She ordered three and we bought her older single neighbor one, as well. I love these!

> 3 dayThis LED lantern will replace my old Coleman dual fuel lantern for most of my camping trips that have kids. I needed a durable, bright lantern that would be fairly kid proof. This product is everything I was looking for. The quality of the build is apparent when you pick it up, the ends are rubberized and the battery compartment has a good feel when you engage the locking mechanism. This does get a bit heavy once you put in the 3D cells, but that is not a issue with the product, but rather the state of battery technology. I will be ordering a couple more of these for the house for power outages or just to have in the backyard for bonfires.

> 3 dayWe have had 2 of these lanterns for at least a couple of seasons. We absolutely love these lights. We keep these in our Westy so they are there whenever we need them. I have yet to replace the batteries and they are still going strong. Love the 3 levels of white light and the red light is perfect when you need useful light that is easy on the eyes. The hanging device and clips make these easy to place wherever you need the light. I do not believe the two sizes were available when we bought ours... it could be an excuse to buy another one! Would definitely recommend these to a friend and would buy again. A super product for the price.

> 3 dayThere are lots of options when it comes to lanterns. Many less expensive ones are brighter and have more features but I couldn’t trust them to last when I needed it. I’ve had the other streamlight flashlights for years and they are still rock solid. Everything on the this lantern is well thought out and made to be durable.

> 3 dayIts a bit heavy, but nice and bright. The button shouldnt easily get pressed (turned on) by accident when packed - a personal peeve of mine. I do wish the light had some kind of light shade when its doing the upside down hanging thing so its not so in your eyes, and I wish the dim version was dimmer to save battery life, but its a great area light for, say, cooking. Rechargeable batteries (lithium ion or similar) would have been nice too...but its still a great little light.
