Texas Instruments TI-30XS MultiView Scientific Calculator

good quality and pretty simple

I am an actuarial analyst and essentially do math full time. I originally got this calculator because it is one of the few that the Society of Actuaries allows in their exams. I tend to develop somewhat unreasonable attachments to my varying calculators, and Ive never loved one as much as this (though I have to shout out my sturdy old TI-84+). It doesnt graph or do much in the way of calculus, but in my experience youll never need to use a calculator like that outside of a high school math setting. Most college classes dont allow graphing calculators, and no standardized exam Ive ever known does either. In my job I always have access to a computer and various programs that can graph and such for me. This baby has a very user friendly display and is easy to learn to use. The fact that you can scroll through old entries puts it light years ahead of comparable TI scientific calculators. Its small and lightweight unlike graphing calculators, and its easy on the eyes as well. I dont know how I ever lived without a fraction button on a calculator. In short Ive had this bad boy for a few years and its still kickin. In fact, I plan on getting another one so I can leave one at work and still have access to one at home (because I have 3 or 4 other calculators, but using any other makes me frustrated and I wistfully wish I had my TI-30XS Multiview).

Worth the price

Bad display. Greenish / bluish tint to it. Less contrast. hard to see . I don’t think it is solar . Why make that stripe to make it look like a solar?

Has been a great calculator to use for my college math class. Very simple to use and easy to figure out.

I am using this calculator for my Finance class for my Masters Degree which by the way is an approved and required calculator by the University for this class due to the 5 white buttons we are using, and it does not COMPLETELY clear out your work. Professors even mention you have to actually RESET the entire calculator AFTER every problem. It continuously gives you different numbers when entering the same numbers in an equation even after resetting. Trying to solve mile long equations with this calculator is beyond frustrating and is causing students who use this calculator to fail their proctored exams. Horrible technology!!!

Really good calculator, numbers are clear and easy to read, also included with the calculator is instructions so if you don’t know how to do something you can find out easily.
