> 3 dayI purchased this external hard drive to back up my Macbook Air 2000. Rather than purchase a lower-priced item that would require reformating for a Mac, I upgraded to the Canvio Flex. It worked perfectly. I didnt have to reformat and the cable fit my Mac perfectly. I logged into Macs Time Machine and it was seamless. Great product.

> 3 dayThe set up was extremely obscure. Had to call a technician who went through over a dozen steps that I wouldnt have known myself. In the end it wasnt even compatible with my computer as promised.

> 3 dayI’ve only ever had the best experiences with Toshiba. I had 3 prior to this for how many years I can’t remember and they’ve only have ever been good which is why I opted for this brand when getting more capacity. This is a person who have tried MOST major brands over the years. All those are on the side waiting for the right tech to be able to retrieve what I lost while Toshiba steadily does the job

> 3 dayThe size is so compact, most of the time I forget it is there. I love it! I have doubled my storage space without the big bulky tower.

> 3 dayOne of the worst products and technical support service offered by a company, and thats a pretty high standard in todays business environment. I had the product for one day and returned it. Not worth my time to chase them down. I purchased a Toshiba Canvio Flex portable storage drive and it was worthless. I tried to download 58 GB of information at the same time with a download of about 40 GB of information. My computer which has over 100 GB of free space informed me that it would take 14 hours to download the 40 GB and initially 2 days for the 58GB of information. That was soon reduced to 12 hours. I thought that might be a mistake, but in fact 8 hours later it was still downloading. By the time I download all the information to the drive, the 3 year warranty will have expired. If that wasnt bad enough, I tried calling customer support. I dialed the number that appeared on their enclosed instructions sheet. You had 2 options to connect to a department. In both situations, Toshiba said the number is no longer working. No alternative number provided. Then I dialed the number listed on their site. It provided a few options. I clicked 3 different options just to speak with someone. Each time, I received a response that the extension was not valid and then received a response saying goodbye. I tried calling three times and the same thing happened. Final result: A drive that takes over 14 hours to download 58 GB of information and service phone numbers provided by Toshiba that tell you the numbers are invalid. A great way to run a business. I am returning the drive today and would never buy a Toshiba product.

> 3 dayThis product is frustrating and unreliable. Bought to back up several of my computers, I experienced weird errors and the inability to transfer or save modified files back to this drive. While attempting to back up and older Dell, none of the target files would transfer due to a volume dirty error. Yet my older LaCie drive handled this task easily. When I used Adobe Acrobat to combine several of the files on the Toshiba drive, the resulting file would not store back on it but had to be written to a different drive. Trying to transfer 93 GB of files on the Toshiba to the 483 GB of free space on the LaCie, I got numerous errors for too little memory, or device not specified. In short, this drive can SOMETIMES back up files, which are then unable to be transfered to a computer where the files can be used. I deem this drive too flaky to be useful, and it will be returned as soon as I can find a way to back up this lousy backup.
