> 3 dayAfter having major issues with other drives, I bought two of the 4Tb version. I have now tested these two drives for several months in rough conditions and I have had no issues with slow down or errors. My issues with other drives had to do with moving thousands of files into the drive and then the drive not being able to cope with the large numbers of files. The drives would eventually slow down and shut down. I have not had these issues with the two Toshiba drives. They have more than 100,000 files each and do not fail

> 3 dayI purchased the 2TB version of this drive. I currently use a MacBook Pro for work, and both Windows and Linux for personal use. After a bit of “tweaking” I was able to re-partition the drive to prove a Time-capsule drive for Mac, as well as “data” partitions for Max and Windows/Linux.. The drive works great otherwise. So plug and forget for the most part. I’ve only got two real issues, and both of those are actually pretty minor: 1. I wish there was a power button on it. Yes, I can disconnect when not in use, but it would be nice to leave it plugged in and just turn off when not actually using it. 2. The blue powered/activity light is freakishly bright! Like, REALLY bright, to the point where I need to cover it, or position it somewhere that the light is blocked. It is really, really distracting! Those are really just nitpicking, though. If you want a great portable drive that is fast, connects easy, csuper fast and great storage capacity, the I highly recommend this, whether you need it for extra storage or backup. The drive does come with both IuSB-A and USB-C cables, so you don’t have to go looking for cables. I am using USB-C, and I can’t complain about the speed at all. Highly recommended!

> 3 daySome reviewers say this drive is fast but I think they must have had really slow transfer rates before. Ive owned 12-15 external hard drives in my life and this is by far the slowest. So slow it hurts. What usually would take 6 hours has taken 30 hours. When the Hard drive is initially estimating the time it will take it is throwing out numbers like 5 days 6 days and as it reads and adjusts it starts saying 30 hours 24 hours 18 hours and so on but as I get hopeful it ends on a very large number of hours estimated. Considering returning both of them.

> 3 dayI use this for Time Machine backups on my Mac. It’s fast, stays cool, and is unobtrusive. 4TB capacity is plenty for me. Just right!

> 3 dayI would give this Toshiba external hard drive a six, but you can only give it a five. The Toshiba external hard drive comes with two different plugs. It comes with a USB-C and a USB plug. This will hook up to older computers, and newer computers. I have a new Mac Book Pro, and had no problem hooking it up to Time Machine. It has a 1 Tb hard drive, which should last for a long time. I would differently recommend this hard drive to anyone who needs to back uo their computer
