This is sold on Amazon as a solid state portable drive, but while it is indeed portable, this is not a solid state drive. it vibrates like an ordinary external hard disk, and Indeed, there is no reference to a solid state characteristic on either the packaging, the insert or the disk itself. This is clearly mislabeled.

It’s a little bit slow but not egregious or anything. Works well for what I need and very easy to use. Also liked that it included usb and usb c cables.

Nice to have fast file transfer with 4 TB of storage.

This drive is great for those that tend to be on the go a lot. I used this drive to back up all of my files from my desktop to bring with me when Im out for use on my laptop. I also have used this drive to install and run games (to preserve storage space on my laptops internal SSD) and they run just as good as on any other drive. The USB C connectivity is also very convenient to access and transfer files to/from an Android phone or Tablet, which I really appreciate. On top of that, its small size makes it easily pocketable which only adds to why I enjoy this particular drive. Definitely recommend this drive to anyone seeking a drive with plenty of capacity and some of the best portability Ive seen in a drive!

I was excited about being able to use this drive on our several Macbooks and my work PC, but buy, what a nightmare! I started making copies of several very large iphoto libraries, and picture folders I had accumulated on a MAc formatted Seagate USB Drive, would leave the computer unnatended (it would take several hours to download these 5 to 10 GB files from another drive connected to the Mac) and in more occasions than I could count, I would return and see a message on the Macs screen that the drive was not ejected properly. I found the had way that this error would render the drive unrecognizable by the Mac, which required me to connect it to my Windows notebook to repair the drive, then start everything all over again. ( then error, repeat, error, repeat...) But I was very determined to finish family picture backups and I endured through it. This drive is now so slow that it is basically useless now and these countless failed attempts took so long to conclude my backups that I cant even return it to the vendor anymore. I just bought a MyCloud EX2 Ultra NAS, which I should have done from the git go. This past Sunday (04/04) night I connected the drive to my Mac to pull the backups from it to the NAS and the backup of just 1.42TB concluded this morning (Wednesday, 04/07 ). Is that acceptable to ANYONE? Dont waste your money on this slow drive, you will be stuck with a useless silver colored paper weight.

I use this for back up of my laptop. It’s double the 1 MG hard drive that I had before and very much smaller with double the capacity at a very reasonable price. So far, I’m very happy with it.

Last purchased Jan 5, 2022. Color: Silver | Capacity: 4TB | Style: USB-C & USB 3.0 I run windows 11 on both my laptops first thing I did was reformat it (quick format) to NTFS I got some velcro tape and put on the top of both laptops Now I can use the 4TB drive on either machine and it sticks to the top and dont just hang there floppin around I have my machines set for drives to go to sleep after Idle a bit Takes a second or 2 to come out of sleep mode but other than that read/write/move/delete functions are quick Very nice drive at Great price Would recommend it to everyone.

I cant really give a product rating because I returned the product, twice. The rating is all about Amazon which is really a 2. Side note: the U.S.A. based customer service people are stellar. Part 1 I purchased this product based on my sons recommendations. One of his Masters is in MIS so I trust his recommendations. It arrived in one of the famous white bubble padded envelopes which bothered me for an electronic product that was going to save my data. At the time I was not aware that this external hard drive does not have the moving parts like my older WD Element and Seagate models. Otherwise I might have moved forward, kept the product and been OK. Not knowing that, I did not like the padded envelope vs. cardboard box, plus, the previously purchased drives were individually packaged in a nice cardboard box with plastic clam shell type packaging. This Toshiba was in a cheaper cardboard box with flimsy cardboard inside. Like I said, I was not aware that the newer hard drives were different from the older ones so I contacted customer we are all overseas speaking English as a second language and repeat EVERYTHING you say service person., who , finally understood that I wanted a replacement sent packed in a box. After the usual 10 or 15 minutes for the whole process I was assured a replacement would be send with my request considered (shipped in a box with padding), and a return pick-up was issued. Part#2 A couple days later the replacement arrived in an envelope consisting of 2 layer of brown paper bag material with dots of this Marshmallow Fluff material. Needless to say more time was spent going through the overseas people to get a U.S.A. English-as- first- language person, explained issue and shot story - returned item and was issued a refund after it arrived at Amazon. Longer story, I was unable to take a clean hard drive on my working vacation. Now my plan is to get one in-person at Best Buy or other retailer.

I like the compact size and the storage capacity. Was very easy to setup. Not all plug-and-play devices are this easy.

I have had it for seen months when it suddenly stopped working mid-update. I hear a sound like its trying but it never appears as being installed. Disappointed.
