These work perfectly! I’m currently using for 3 Christmas trees and a plug in the garage to outside Christmas lights. The integration with Alexa works fantastic. Outside lights are set to come on at sunset and off at a set time while the inside trees are voice controlled and grouped with rooms.

Ive been buying Treatlife switches for my smart home this past year, and Ive been very happy with how they look and operate. The price-point of Treatlife products is hard to beat. I was pleased when I learned that Treatlife was expanding their product range and now has smart plugs. These look better than the Wemo smart plugs Ive had before and operate just as well as them. Plus they cost less. So a win-win-win scenario as far as Im concerned. Why, then, did I give these only four stars? Well, as much as I like Treatlife I want to be honest in my review: Until recently, Treatlife did not have its own app for smart home integration. Instead, they licensed the use of the Smart Life app, which was perfectly fine and worked very well. I had no problems linking the Smart Life app to my Google Home. However, the instructions in the box of these plugs says to use the Treatlife app, which works fine and is nearly identical to the Smart Life app. The problem I ran into is the Treatlife app is NOT listed in the Google Home app for linking. You can continue to use the Smart Life app, which is what I will do. I felt is was necessary to ding one star on my review because of the confusion about the apps and the lack of information in the instructions. Usually Treatlife is good with responses, but in this case I got no response from their support when I asked about this app problem. Other than that, these plugs are great and I will continue to buy them in the furture.

Pictures made it look like these were about the same width as the outlet cover plate which would have been fine, but looks are deceiving. I need them to fit inside an electric box which is wider than the cover plate and these are larger than the plate. Its a shame they dont provide dimensions. Ill see if I can use them somewhere else.

Update 9/15/20: One of my outlets has disconnected a couple times which required resetting it and resyncing to my WiFi. Overall for months of use thus far, its not a huge issue. The other I use daily and has never had any connection issues so I still get the impression these are reliable. Full Disclosure: Treat Life sent me this product for free in order to test and review. Ive been using these for nearly a month now. Ive used other smart outlet plugs before, but ran into issues of random disconnects, difficultly resyncing to my SmartLife app, and no automatic reconnecting after power outages. TreatLifes smart plugs suffer none of those issues. On top of the reliability, they offer other features and customizations like whether or not you want the LED on or off, how the switch functions, timer settings, and a child lock. Plus, 15amps is a very generous rating, which is why I use mine in the garage. These guys, like all other TreatLife products Ive used, just work. Theyre high quality, and reliable.

My Treatlife wall plugs work and my wife especially likes them. She says she loves walking out of the bedroom in the early morning and finds the living room and den lit up. The scheduler and timer is the thing that we both like. However, getting the plugs into the network was not easy. The supposedly easy directions to get the plugs found and on the network were neither easy nor clear. I believe that the only reason I got mine on the network is because I refused to be bested by a programmable wall socket. The problems that I found with the directions follow: 1. There were no directions about finding the reset switch 2. The time to hold the reset switch to get the item reset was much longer than printed in the instructions 3. The sequence of instructions to add the device to the network was not correct. I kept playing with the devices to get them recognized by the network until I got them on teh network. I had four wall plugs and they had to be independently added to the network. The sequence of events to get each one on the network was a little different. However, once I got each of them on the network, they have worked without issue since then. The program to set the timers works as expected and has not had an issue since the timers for each module were created. The instructions for adding the timers was not clear either. When you want a wall plug to turn on and stay on for a period of time, you have to create two different schedules. The first schedule will turn the wall plug on the second will turn the wall plug off. There is no way to create a single schedule to turn the plug on for a period of time and then turn it back off. In summary, once you get the Treatlife wall plugs on the network, they seem to work fine. However, getting them to work on your network can be tricky. The instructions enclosed with the modules is not detailed and does NOT work as described. Once you get them on the network, however, they seem to work with no further issues.

This is my second purchase of these Treatlife outlets because they just work without issue with Alexa. I am now in the process of replacing the big smart outlets made by the other company. that dominated the entire wall outlet. I like that the Treatlife outlet only takes up the space of one plug on the outlet so the other plug can be accessed. Installation is simple just plug it in to your existing outlet, plug in the device you want control then activate and name the device in the smart Life app. The Treatlife products dont drop the Wifi connection like other brand I have used and integrate perfectly with Alexa, a great combination. These are also working terrific in my shop where I can now turn on a vacuum or other tools by voice command to Alexa. These plugs handle 15 amps which is sufficient for most of my needs.

We were using several mechanical timers that were not very accurate and would make buzzing noises. These smart plugs are smaller, quiet and have accurate timers. The app uses Bluetooth initially to identify the plug. You then connect it to your wi-fi (make sure to have your wi-fi password ready). Setting a schedule was a bit confusing, the on/off indicator is strange. You set the time first, touch on/off, change it (to on or off), then confirm (the app says Confrim) and then touch Save. Once Id programmed the first plug, the other three were easy. I have not tried grouping the plugs. You just need the app on your phone to set/control these smart plugs. You do not need Alexa.

I have the light switches and was using WEMO. However, with a mesh system wemo kept losing “connection”. I got some inexpensive outlets and soon found out that they only allow six connections. After my experience with treatlife’s customer service, I bought these. They work amazing. No issue with disconnections, and I added everything to the smartlife app. I love them. The only concern I have (admittedly I don’t know if it’s an app issue) is the 24 hour clock. I would like a 12 clock.

So functionally,. These smart plugs do everything advertised. They have the 15 amp relay , they have timers, they can be in groups, they have an app, and they can connect to google and alexa. But everything is cloud based. When you install the treatlife app, you gotta create a cloud account. No cloud account, noise having them. Once created, you gotta create a home, family, and then rooms. Pairing the device is simple, push the botton, and the app uses bluetooth to find the new device and then you tell it what your wifi password is via the app and it registers to the cloud. All the timer events are in the cloud. In fact, to turn it on, the app contacts the cloud and the device turns on/ in about 5 seconds after the button press. There doesnt seem to be an internal clock for the timer events. So if your internet is down, your timer features are gone. This is why I dont like the cloud only features. We have to assume that treatlife could be gone in a year rendering these smart outlets useless. These outlets look like many other OEM smart plugs. From experience I have also learned that these devices which need a cloud account are disposable in a year, when the cloud policies changes . And do you really want a server in china having control over your appliances. The alexa and google features basically use the local home controller to connect to their cloud to control local devices. Ill keep them, but I am still looking for locally controlled outlets with a timer. These arent them. But they do work, for now.
