I have been a user of smart home products for 10+ years. More recently, there are many wifi-connected devices available that are more flexible and much more affordable. Ive tried several different smart plugs, and have been impressed with the Treatlife offering. They are easy to setup, program, and work reliably. Im also glad that they work with the generic Smart Life app, as some of the others will only work with their own proprietary variant. The Treatlife app is quite good on its own. It also handles a full 15 amps, some of the others will only switch 10 amps, which could contribute to the wide form factor, which is the only downside I have found with the product.

Some people stated that it was super easy to install and some stated it was a pain. Im siding with it being a pain. Yes I know that it only runs on 2G, but my Alexa couldnt locate the plugs, and I had to contact customer service at Amazon, which was very helpful. I had to download the Smartlife app in order for Alexa to recognize them. So, no, this was not easy to set up. It took my over 2 hours to set them up. Once they were up and running, they seemed to work well. Im decent with technology, but this was kind of stupid since I had to download a completely different app for the plugs.

I’m not 100% happy with this product because the directions it comes with advise using a different remote than the Alexa app. I’m not a big fan of juggling remotes. If there’s another solution or explanation, I’d be happy to hear it.

This was a splurge for me this past Christmas - Yeah, I know, $25 isnt that much of a splurge! But honestly, I didnt know if it was going to be worth it! But after reading a bunch of reviews on a bunch of different brands of wi-fi plugs, I decided to go with Treatlife. I dont use, or intend to ever purchase or use, any smart speakers to connect with these plugs, although I considered purchasing ones that worked with Apple Homelink, but they were always more expensive. I bought this 4-pack in time to put one on the Christmas tree, and a couple other lamps around the house. The app was easy to use to get started, and it didnt take too long to figure out how to set up rooms and scenes, with multiple plugs coming on simultaneously. The best part is that with Apple Shortcuts, I can say Hey Siri, turn my light on! And bam! Its on! Thats really handy if you use Hey Siri. Also a factor was the fact that these are 15 amp plugs. I use one of them to power my home studio! (Just a small mixer and two self-powered studio monitors.) Instead of reaching around to find the switch for all three units, I tap my phone or tell Siri to power it up. (One application I recently thought of that will most likely motivate my purchase of another set of these is charging smart devices. I hate the thought of leaving our iPad charging all night, as I know this is bad for the longevity of the battery. So using one of these with a timer set for 3-4 hours would allow me to set it to charge at bed time, and know that it wont over charge the battery for the last 4 or so hours Im asleep.) I highly recommend these if you are looking for a simple product to replace lamp timers, control small electronic devices, etc. They totally exceeded my expectations!

The switch seems reliable, handles high power, and setting it up to operate with Amazon Alexa and/or Google Home is simple and easy (I have both). Ive used one with a Hot Pot pressure cooker and another with a toaster oven without any issue. The switch does not get hot. A nice touch is that the plug has a push button on/off toggle switch on the side left side- so when you are next to it, you can easily turn it on or off manually without bothering to speak a command or bring up its cell phone app. Some time ago, I purchased a Treatlife wall switch and had a little trouble with the initial setup. I was able to quickly contact Treatlife support and found them to be responsive and immediately helpful. This is the opposite of my experiences with TP Link/Kasa where I found their technical support to be unhelpful and had a 3-way switch purchased from them fail entirely after only a week or so in used. (As of this writing, TP Link still has not honored its warranty. I use Alexa/IFTTT for timing functions, so I have not tried to set any plug timing from the cell phone app.

    Greater than one week

I have the light switches and was using WEMO. However, with a mesh system wemo kept losing “connection”. I got some inexpensive outlets and soon found out that they only allow six connections. After my experience with treatlife’s customer service, I bought these. They work amazing. No issue with disconnections, and I added everything to the smartlife app. I love them. The only concern I have (admittedly I don’t know if it’s an app issue) is the 24 hour clock. I would like a 12 clock.

These smart plugs are among the most cost-effective I could find online, and they have performed flawless for me so far. Configuration is easy using their free app, which only needs to be done once, whereafter all access to then assigned to Amazons Alexa. Download Treatlifes app, sign up for a free account, follow the easy process to identify the smart plugs and add them to your WiFi network, then name each smart plug. Once thats complete, open your Alexa-enabled device, and follow the instructions to add third party devices. Voice control integration is seamless. From start to finish, it takes about ten minutes to create the account and add to Wifi. Adding subsequent devices only takes a minute or less. One important thing to remember is that these devices need 4G Wifi, not 5G Wifi. If you have both options on your Wifi network, be sure to assign them to the 4G band.

This is the second set of TreatLife products Ive purchased. The first was a set of 4 light switches. The value and ease of use of those encouraged me to purchase these smart plugs when I needed some recently. As you can see in the picture, I am using it to control a space heater. That heater is located in my workshop. The other morning (before the smart plugs) I came out to find that heater running. I forgot to turn it off the night before! Bad news. Fortunately, nothing happened, but I immediately searched for a smart plug so I can set up a schedule to turn it off automatically every night just in case I forget again. When the plugs arrived (the next day wit Prime shipping), I opened them up and followed the written instructinos. NOTE: The instructions for the plugs say to download the TreatLife app, which I did, but wondered why I didnt already have it given the prior set up of light switches. Turns out they changed the name (at least) from SmartLife. I tried logging into the new app with my existing credentials, but it didnt recognize them. I pulled out the light switch instructions - how I found out the app name changed - and ran SmartLife. The old app recognized me and also recognized the new plug quickly and set up was just fine. Connected it to my Google Home devices, set up the nightly schedule, and now I dont worry about burning down my shop any more!

I am a regular user of Treatlife products and have their smart switches, smart dimmers, and smart bulbs throughout my house. Therefore, I was excited to try out these new smart plugs from this company and must say that these are another WINNER from Treatlife. Price: Great price! At the current price of approx. 25 bucks (after a $5 off coupon) for a 4-pack, they are cheaper than other 15 amp smart plugs available on Amazon. Quality: Plugs feel solid. The 15 amp rating is perfect for my larger appliances (microwave, space heater) and offers more versatility than the 10 amp options that are available at a comparable price. Installation: Installation was a breeze and I was able to have all 4 plugs connected and setup in the Smart Life app in under 5 minutes. These were far easier to setup than my existing Wemo smart plugs. Also, they have great integration with Google Assistant (only took another couple of minutes to get this configured). Functionality: While comparable in performance, these smart plugs have the following additional functionality that is not available on the other smart plugs that I own: >Restart Status (determines whether the plugs remain Off/On/Keep last status following a power outage - setup through the app) >Indicator Light mode (plug On/Off indicator, LED always On to indicate plug location in the dark, LED always Off - setup through the app) >Child Lock (enable/disable the On/Off switch on the plugs - setup on the plugs or through the app) Reliability: I have not had them long enough to comment on their reliability, but I expect them to last a long time based on my previous experience with other Treatlife products.
