I can’t even remember the last time I tie dyed, I think I was in summer camp or girls scouts—either way, it’s been a long time! This kit makes it so simple and easy that anyone can do it, especially since it comes with an instructions and design techniques booklet so no one has a hard time. I dyed one shirt to test it out, since I’m pretty rusty, and it came out beautiful and vibrant. My only cons are that it’s super messy, even before I started dying I had dye all over my hands because the caps weren’t screwed on very well, but it comes off pretty easily so I wasn’t too upset. The bottles are also small, I wish they were bigger, but other than that I have nothing but great things to say. I’ll definitely be purchasing another one so I can keep tie dying!

We used this kit for tie-dyeing t-shirts and we were very pleased with the color payoff of the dyes. The colors turned out to be incredibly vibrant and the dyes were easy to use. The kit includes plastic gloves (that are even a bit loose on adult hands, so keep that in mind), sturdy rubber bands, capped squirt bottles with color-coordinated powdered dyes, and a great instruction manual. The manual even gives you step-by-step instructions on how to achieve certain patterns beyond the generic tie-dye swirl pattern. Side note: We used white 100% cotton t-shirts for our project and started with them wet. While our colors were perfectly vibrant, dyeing dry fabrics can get you even more vibrant colors but require more dye.

Having never tie dyed before I read up on it and was prepared to soak the garments in a water and soda ash mix. So I washed the shirts as instructed: LITTLE soap and NO fabric softener. Keep in mind that fabric softeners COAT the fibers. If the fibers are coated in something then dye will not adhere to the item. This kit was plenty for 4 of us to do 2 shirts apiece. My son did one shirt having been wet and soaked in the soda ash mixture and the other dry and no soda ash of any kind. The results were the SAME! The dyes soaked in quite well, and we are pleased with our shirts. The dye will stain your hands for a few days if you dont wear gloves, but eventually it will wash off. After a few normal washes the shirts still look good and bright.

Id wanted to tie dye for ages, so I finally buckled down and bought a kit. The bottles were smaller then I thought they would be, but there were plenty of colour choices, and they had a lot of product in them. I ended up making 10 pairs of socks, 2 scrub tops, a cami, and a full sized sheet set. The colours were vibrant, and the squeeze bottles were easy to use. I wish the instructions that came with them were more than just pictures, but I did my best. I appreciated the drop cloth, rubber bands, and gloves that came with the kit. Too bad I was too stubborn to use the gloves. My one complaint is that I wish there were slightly fewer pink/blue based colours and some more yellow. Because a lot of my projects needed something lighter and brighter, and I ran out of yellow and neon green quickly. Other than that, great kit.

    Greater than one week

I had several bottles that leaked when shaking to mix. The cap was on correctly. Wont return because I still used them. Color is vibrant until you wash them, then it fades

Im going to start this off by saying, that like everyone, I think my family needed something to do that was fun and productive during the start of the pandemic. I ordered this set and some shirts and as a family, we were gonna have a tiedye day. It went well. I mixed the colors and we all got to work. We followed the instructions, and everyone was happy with their creations. We let them sit like we were supposed to, rinsed them and washed them. The only shirt that turned out like it was supposed to, was mine. Everyone elses shirts ended up almost washing completely out. I used Blue and Yellow. Purple and black was used, and green and black, and all the other colors on one shirt... I dont know what happened or why it didnt work as effectively. Maybe its a user error? We all did it the same thing, so Im truly baffled. Id buy this again with the intention of SOAKING the fabric in color, in hopes that it would stay in the fabric.

Ordered this kit to do a craft with my grandkids ages 6 & 7. It came quickly and looked like the photo. Lots of colors to choose from and I liked that the kit included accessories such as plastic gloves and rubber bands. You should definitely use the gloves even when preparing the colors as some of the powder is likely on the outside of the bottles and will definitely stain. We used the kit outside and the directions were easy to follow and included tips for different patterns. My grands loved their tie-dyed shirts.
