Ordered this kit to do a craft with my grandkids ages 6 & 7. It came quickly and looked like the photo. Lots of colors to choose from and I liked that the kit included accessories such as plastic gloves and rubber bands. You should definitely use the gloves even when preparing the colors as some of the powder is likely on the outside of the bottles and will definitely stain. We used the kit outside and the directions were easy to follow and included tips for different patterns. My grands loved their tie-dyed shirts.

This kit is so much fun. I made several shirts with different colors and still have half a box left! I checked with the Michaels store, their kits are way more expensive and they dont even carry this one. This would be awesome for a Tie Dye party!!! You will need to use any open bottle the same day so the dye is most effective. The bottles can be saved and refilled with the inexpensive Rit Dye packs. About a tablespoon would be sufficient. There are four pairs of gloves in this box but I used hospital non latex gloves for a better grip. This kit has everything in it that you will need except for a rack to put over the sink. I just borrowed the one in the oven. Perfect!! I recommend to wash the shirts out after the first dry with cold water, let it hang dry again and then wash separately in the hand wash cycle with Woolite. I ironed them after I dried them in the dryer. After that, they should not bleed in another wash.

Box product comes in is not very sturdy, but it is what I would expect and that is not the problem. Amazon shipped it in an envelope vice a box, and the product box became quite damaged in shipping. Again, not the fault of the manufacturer, but of Amazon. I would expect more from them. And my granddaughter has not used this yet, but it looks of good quality for the price. I think she will enjoy it.

My boyfriend loves his tie dyed Bombas socks but you can’t get them anymore. So, I ordered white ones and got this kit to do our own. I washed them first, then soaked them in soda ash solution for 20 minutes (bought a small package of it at Walmart) and then applied the colors. The little squirt bottles made it easy to apply the color. Sure, some leaked a little bit, but not bad. I put each pair of socks in a separate ziplock bag and let them set up for around 2 hrs. Then I rinsed heavily with cold water until water ran clear then took off rubber bands. Once rubber bands were removed I rinsed again until water was clear. Now time to wash them all. I love how the colors came out. I would definitely recommend this kit. It does say to let the color sit on the item for 6-7 hrs. Because I soaked in soda ash first I didn’t feel this was necessary. Also, be careful not to let items touch one another after you rinse and remove rubber bands. The colors can bleed until they’ve been washed a few times.

Good quality color after rinse and wash, use soda ash pretreatment for more vibrant coloring

Having never tie dyed before I read up on it and was prepared to soak the garments in a water and soda ash mix. So I washed the shirts as instructed: LITTLE soap and NO fabric softener. Keep in mind that fabric softeners COAT the fibers. If the fibers are coated in something then dye will not adhere to the item. This kit was plenty for 4 of us to do 2 shirts apiece. My son did one shirt having been wet and soaked in the soda ash mixture and the other dry and no soda ash of any kind. The results were the SAME! The dyes soaked in quite well, and we are pleased with our shirts. The dye will stain your hands for a few days if you dont wear gloves, but eventually it will wash off. After a few normal washes the shirts still look good and bright.

My son and I always have fun doing activities like this during the summer time. This kit was perfect! It came with a great variety of colors, a sheet with some design techniques and easy to follow directions. Going to purchase this again to try and do a backpack. Would make a great gift for any family and worth the price!

Overall, I was really satisfied with this kit. The variety of color was great, and the vibrancy of the shirt has lasted through several washes. The kit included everything I could need. It was all super convenient and easy. My only small complaint was that it was hard to seal the bottles completely, or maybe that some water with dye spilled over as I was filling them in the sink, because when I shook them up to mix the dye, a little spatter would escape each time. However, I had no problems with that while I was actually using the bottles to squirt dye, so it really wasnt a big deal. Besides, you gotta expect tie dye to be messy. I would definitely recommend this kit.
