My boyfriend loves his tie dyed Bombas socks but you can’t get them anymore. So, I ordered white ones and got this kit to do our own. I washed them first, then soaked them in soda ash solution for 20 minutes (bought a small package of it at Walmart) and then applied the colors. The little squirt bottles made it easy to apply the color. Sure, some leaked a little bit, but not bad. I put each pair of socks in a separate ziplock bag and let them set up for around 2 hrs. Then I rinsed heavily with cold water until water ran clear then took off rubber bands. Once rubber bands were removed I rinsed again until water was clear. Now time to wash them all. I love how the colors came out. I would definitely recommend this kit. It does say to let the color sit on the item for 6-7 hrs. Because I soaked in soda ash first I didn’t feel this was necessary. Also, be careful not to let items touch one another after you rinse and remove rubber bands. The colors can bleed until they’ve been washed a few times.

I bought this to tie dye with my daughter. It came with a ton of different colors. Super easy to do and clear instructions.

Easy to use for a child with supervision. Colors are vibrant and fun. Great for tie dying white t-shirts.

This is the second Tulip kit I have purchased through Amazon. I was so impressed with the first one. The first one had less colors, but more dye of each color. This set had 18 colors, but the amount of each color was less. If you want to do tie dyed shirt for a party, then either one of these kits will do. They both have everything you need. The gloves, the rubber bands, etc. All you have to do is bring the shirt (or other item you want to dye) and add water to the bottles. We all made shirts and they turns out GREAT! Really. This is worth the price. I know sometimes they go on sale, but even paying $20 was totally worth it. I highly recommend. If I ever want to do anymore tie dying in the future, Tulip has my business.

Box product comes in is not very sturdy, but it is what I would expect and that is not the problem. Amazon shipped it in an envelope vice a box, and the product box became quite damaged in shipping. Again, not the fault of the manufacturer, but of Amazon. I would expect more from them. And my granddaughter has not used this yet, but it looks of good quality for the price. I think she will enjoy it.

Colors were vivid and easy to saturate shirts, enough for multiple sessions!

This kit includes everything you need (other than the shirt!) and the quality of the rubber bands especially impressed us! Not a single one snapped and they stretched well! The dye was well pigmented. We let our projects sit in the bag for just over 7 hours and we were very happy with the result after washing. Watch some YouTube videos if you’re a first timer and it’s a breeze! Our family loved making these.

Having never tie dyed before I read up on it and was prepared to soak the garments in a water and soda ash mix. So I washed the shirts as instructed: LITTLE soap and NO fabric softener. Keep in mind that fabric softeners COAT the fibers. If the fibers are coated in something then dye will not adhere to the item. This kit was plenty for 4 of us to do 2 shirts apiece. My son did one shirt having been wet and soaked in the soda ash mixture and the other dry and no soda ash of any kind. The results were the SAME! The dyes soaked in quite well, and we are pleased with our shirts. The dye will stain your hands for a few days if you dont wear gloves, but eventually it will wash off. After a few normal washes the shirts still look good and bright.

Im going to start this off by saying, that like everyone, I think my family needed something to do that was fun and productive during the start of the pandemic. I ordered this set and some shirts and as a family, we were gonna have a tiedye day. It went well. I mixed the colors and we all got to work. We followed the instructions, and everyone was happy with their creations. We let them sit like we were supposed to, rinsed them and washed them. The only shirt that turned out like it was supposed to, was mine. Everyone elses shirts ended up almost washing completely out. I used Blue and Yellow. Purple and black was used, and green and black, and all the other colors on one shirt... I dont know what happened or why it didnt work as effectively. Maybe its a user error? We all did it the same thing, so Im truly baffled. Id buy this again with the intention of SOAKING the fabric in color, in hopes that it would stay in the fabric.

Ok, so after watching a few other items availability dates fluctuate, I finally pulled the trigger on this set! My son (5) has been begging to do tie dye for awhile now and I cant believe Ive never done it myself. Great instructions inside, but the selection of colors and number of bottles made this kit the winner. The shirts we did are fairly bright, however weve only washed once. We let the color set overnight, but for the next round, well probably use a bit more color and let them sit longer.
