Im disappointed that two UAP-AC-LITE I received were not the newest version that supports 802.3af. I can still use them however and the product is solid.

I purchased a couple of these through the manufactures site. I was able to install the devices without much issue...initially. After about a month, the topology map in the software stopped working. I did some research and found that this problem is common and has been going on for 4+ years. WHY!? I was not able to find a solution in the online forum so I decided to uninstall the controller software and do a reinstall. HUGE MISTAKE. After reinstalling, I could not log back into the controller software with the username and password that I used before, and the exact same login credentials that I use on the manufactures site. I did some more research and found that this also is a common problem that has been ongoing for years. I ultimately, had to uninstall the software yet again, factory reset every AP I bought, and do a fresh install of the system. In the end, I got everything back up and running only to find out the topology map quit working yet again. The sad part, there is ZERO customer service for these devices or for the account; no number you can call. I will never buy another Ubiquiti product ever again. This is unacceptable! Dear Ubiquiti, how about you fix the software bugs in your equipment. NOT RECOMENDED!!!!

The whole point of the product is that you can connect two or more of these units in your home and they will act like one seemless wireless connection. To do this you have to set up a virtual controller with their software that connects the devices, and you manage them thru the controller. I had this set up on in my old house. By the time we moved I had changed PCs and didnt realize that the controler I had created was on the old PC. I could not for the life of me figure out how to create a new controller. I created several IDs but it would not let me re-login once I created my account again. Even if I could get the controller working for a while I would then have to reset the devices to allow them to be rediscovered by the controller so that they could be adopted by the controller. Entirely overcomplicated process for the home user. The online instructions havent been updated for a while and lead to dead links. The software only works with Chrome (and not very well). I couldnt figure out. My controller log in wouldnt work if I logged out and then back in. So whats the point in using the controller??? I requested a password reset and never got a reply. I ended up setting up the units as stand alone units in the new house after hours of failure. Stay away from this Company. This is not for the average home user.

I have 2 of these APs and I also purchased the Dream Machine as my main router. This replaced all the mis-mash that I had for my 100-year-old house. All that lathe and such in the house KILLS wifi signal and that, combined with the inability to find power sources for placement where I want to have an AP meant that these Ubiquiti APs are the BEST. I get consistent signal now wherever I roam around the house and outside. Placement is much easier when I can plan without concern for an outlet. Plus, the browser based app and phone app are awesome to configure things they way I need. Cant go on enough about these and how awesome they are. For reference, my first AP has been running almost non-stop for about 2 years. I expect these others to be about the same.

Best AP on the market. Super easy to install and setup. I have one on my 2nd floor and it covers the entire 2,200 sqft house + half the yard on all sides.

Usually you’ll never hear anything wrong about Ubiquiti access points unless it’s an installer error or a bug in the free config software (UniFi). Solid performance, make the default 40 to 80 MHz bandwidth change on 5G radio to get the most performance out of your 802.11ac card (reducing coverage a bit) and you’ll be set. I’ve installed a lot of these AP’s never had one with a problem :)
