Greater than one weekCapable AP for small home or apartment. I set up the management console on a Ubuntu server VM as it cannot run as a service in Windows. However, mine died at about 7 months old and Im stuck with a dead network, now fully reset to defaults with my homelab disabled, until replaced. Even this early in its life I was not able to get a refund.

> 3 dayI purchased this Unifi AP AC Lite so I could play around with Unifi for the first time. I figured it was the best way, and cheapest way, to start with Unifi, even if it was a standalone AP. That being said, I wasnt sure what to expect from this little guy. Once I received it and got it hooked into my network, I started running speed and distance tests on it. AND WOW! I couldnt believe it. Granted, it wasnt much faster than my consumer grade TP Link all in one router, but the range was incredible. I live in a 3000+ square foot house and it literally covers the whole house. The speeds upstairs in the far corner are slow, which is to be expected, but the fact that it reaches is what is amazing. I have gone full on Unifi since my purchase and I am currently in the process of setting up the whole network. If you are looking for a cheap way to get into Unifi, or perhaps your home doesnt require a ton of APs, I HIGHLY recommend this Unifi AP AC Lite.

> 3 dayGot this AP to replace a dying TP-link PoE AP I was using. I have a true synchronous gigabit ftth (fiber to the home) connection running through a dedicated pfsense box running on its own system. I always get 1000mbps through my gigabit wired devices. I do not have any connection issues or slowdowns anywhere in my network, except for this ubiquiti AP. I know the 800mbps is total throughput and not even close to real world speed expectations but just 3 feet away from the AP I was getting roughly 20 mbps down and 20-40mpbs upload on the 2.4ghz channel. The 5ghz channel was able to do better at around 180mbps down and 260ish up. My TP-link AP was one half the cost and does nearly double the 5ghz speed both up and down, and doubles the 2.4ghz up speed. I wouldnt waste your money on this if you dont already have an entire ubiquiti network setup. If you need decent speed, a better AP can be had at much better prices.

> 3 dayThese units are sweet. Easy to install and configure, and they just work.

> 3 dayWhen A company would rather you refer to chat forms and other customers to solve your problem, its a real good indication they want nothing to do with supporting the customer after the sale. It had great signal but not at all user friendly and NO support to fix your problems

Greater than one weekI originally bought one back in December, and it made me like the UniFi series so much that I actually went out and made the rest of my network UniFi. Anyway, the only real issue I see with these is there a limited range of coverage for speeds above 400Mbps. I live in a 900 SqFt one floor apartment and have 3 of these to get the coverage I want. Id suggest for those of you thinking about the full coverage range, maybe look for the UAP-AC-PRO instead of the lite. I bought the lite because I was on a budget at the time. Besides the range, the UniFi controller makes them super easy to setup and configure and expand. All I had to do to configure the additional APs when I got them was plug them in and adopt them in the UniFi controller! Theyre easy to expand and easy to configure. They also do a great job of allowing you to scan the current environment to determine the best channels to place your APs on. I have mine set on auto-channel, using VHT80, which lets me get the full 1Gbps when Im in range (in range is probably about 5 feet from my AP, hence why I had 3 of them). Connect them up to a UniFi 8 port POE switch, add in the cloud key and USG-3P and youve got yourself a pretty bada** home network.

> 3 dayI believe I may have received a used unit from a reseller here on Amazon. My unit came already broadcasting an SSID, would not find the controller after a reset(however I could ping and SSH to it), and was manufactured more than a year ago. I had to return the unit as defective (possibly the same reason it was returned the first time) as I could not use it after several hours attempting to facilitate communications between the controller and the AP. I have over a decade of networking and system administration experience, so I do not believe my issues to be user error. I am attempting to replace a Meraki unit that now drops packets, frames, connections, and sometimes just DNS data.
