This replaced an older UAP that only had 100mb uplink. With this AP my laptops connection went from 144mbps to 400mbps, with no other changes. Just swapped the older UAP out with this, and let the Unifi controller configure it the same. These are the only APs I havent had to constantly tweak to get enough coverage, fast speed, and consistent connections in my house for the last 12 years. I love the fact I can add more to extend service to my barn and have them all linked so I can roam from one to another without switching SSIDs. Ive never been able to get similar function from other APs to work right.

If you want a great piece of hardware with very dodgy software and a gaggle of abusive incels for a community, by all means buy this product. The Windows client requires a Java install (nothing says Quality like uncompiled Java apps!). The Windows client crashes and refuses to restart after one use. Your mileage may very. The iOS app is useless ... because it cant see the Windows app, and it wont let you manage the AP directly if the terrible Windows app has already claimed it. (What genius came up with this idea?) The Docker container now refuses to “claim” it even after it has been reset. Enjoy reading the invective hurled at people who have the temerity to list the problems with Ubiquitis garbage controllers on the companys forums. A handful of Google clicks was all it took to cure me of that urge. Ubiquitis Edgerouter X is very capable ... but it also has a terrible interface and cant control this snowflake either. Just buy the more expensive, deceptively named “Security Gateway” or any other router with a PoE injector. Overall, I am not pleased with the polish of this product, but it is one of the few that does what it does at this price point. This, despite what some reviewers with metal-filled walls may write here, a VERY powerful and flexible small access point. It is just crippled by some truly awful front end software written by people who need hugs.

Everything was very good, now it is working without any issues. The only bad thing is that forgot that part of ordering the universal one instead the US. Anyways you can put the other AP as a optional button below the article title.

Rock-solid wireless access point, its been running for a couple months and havent needed to restart it. Wireless range covers the house footprint with no degraded speeds.

Epic fail. Average Joe will have some trouble downloading software and getting set up. All reviews and videos I saw said a normal size house would only need one. I have great WiFi in same areas as with my ISP router, but still weak signal in farthest rooms. Adversities 400ft, won’t even reach 30 feet with interior walls. I won’t purchase anymore ubiquiti products.

Ill never go back to another manufacturer. These things just work flawlessly, even with 10-20 devices connected. No dropouts, no having to reset the modem, no congested networks. Im 3+ years into my first one and Ive not had to reset it once. They just work. And bonus, they mount on the ceiling or wall, so they dont take up any desk/shelf space either. Absolute workhorses.

We had to have professional help to install this but it works really well.

I tried a few other travel routers which powered themselves off usb or POE. This thing blows them all out of the water. My speeds and performance are identical to a wired connection!!! I am on solar, so I need to conserve power. What is did is use this adapter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ENNUWO4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with a 24v power source, you can also use this https://www.amazon.com/24V-Boost-Converter-Regulator-Waterproof-Transformer/dp/B07XBWHR56/ref=pd_bxgy_3/132-2764768-1643629?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07XBWHR56&pd_rd_r=ec44c413-df2a-4811-858f-a7103942c6d0&pd_rd_w=NTSv5&pd_rd_wg=DQfiJ&pf_rd_p=f325d01c-4658-4593-be83-3e12ca663f0e&pf_rd_r=XKXSEY3MW380C8GM478P&psc=1&refRID=XKXSEY3MW380C8GM478P to convert your 12v power source to 24 v, then to the POE adapter above. The ubiquity requires 24v. Anyhow, I just downloaded the ubiquity ios app designed specifically for this AP, it didnt find it so I selected manual ap connection then pointed my iphone at the qr code on the back of the AP. It found it and set it up properly. (I had it connected to an ethernet internet connection provided by my ISP- there was a router built into the ethernet connection my ISP provided already, which is why I wanted an access point, not a second router- having a double NAT situation isnt good even though lots of people do it.). It works perfectly as I said, and is as good as if I connect to my ISP connection using an ethernet cord. Cant ask for anything better than that! Seems power efficient as well. I could even run a long ethernet cord to locations on the property to easily make internet reach there as well. Its so perfect.

I have several of these deployed at work and every one has been rock solid for months. I also have some of the previous non-AC models that have been running for almost 2 years with no trouble. I expect these will be the same.
