I bought this so that I could switch my HOTAS between a desktop and laptop computer while playing an online game so that I could use two different players at the same time. I only need to be able to control one player at a time, but it was cumbersome to pull the USB cable out of one computer and plug it into the other. This switch solved that problem. I would highly recommend this if you have a similar situation (or have any USB device that you want to share between two computers).

Works great with the right mix of simplicity and functionality for the price point. Bought to streamline my work-from-home set-up for mouse & keyboard sharing. I specifically chose this one because it doesnt require external power like some others. Switching is simple with a minimal blue LED indicator. It does appear to have auto-switching when it detects connection with a new device, and I havent had a problem with it acting out. The one nit that I might have for this product is placement of the USB ports. I would prefer all of the ports to all be on one side for better cable management and table placement for button access. Most other options I found were too expensive/had more PC connections than I needed, had an unattractive form, or required external power (therefore extra independent plug). Ive only used this device with mouse-and-keyboard. I cant comment on how it performs with other devices. I noticed that if your mouse/keyboard is compatible with key mapping software and has ability to store an onboard map, you may need to unplug-replug the device when you switch to a computer that does not have the software (like your work computer) before it registers and runs the onboard map. Although there is only one USB device port, it is easily expanded with any USB hub. Obviously if you had to buy a USB hub to make your set-up work, that would be an additional cost consideration. I just used one I had on hand.

I am delighted with this USB switch. At $15, it is an amazing bargain. Comes with two USB cords included. Understand that it only has one output, so to use a keyboard and a mouse (or I suppose a USB printer), requires a USB hub on the outlet side. I use mine to switch my keyboard and wireless mouse from one computer to the other and it works flawlessly. I love it. Some reviewer complained that it switches automatically to a computer that is turned on. This is probably by design, as it is needed. Otherwise the booting computer would not see a keyboard, and would post an error to that effect. Great product.

Im currently waiting on customer service, so well see if my situation is fixed by a new device. I have a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro connected to this device so that I can share a keyboard between the two computers. The computers are generally kept on all the time. This device was very promising initially and I do love the clean design and matte finish. It feels well-built. Unfortunately, this device has logic built into it that switches to whichever device is active automatically. In my case this causes erratic switching between the two devices I have connected to it. This is a problem for situations where two computers are left on. I find my device switches by itself to the other device unpredictably. Ill be typing on one computer and suddenly Im typing on the other computer. This is not acceptable functionality unfortunately. Honestly I wish that logic has been left out of the device and that it just stayed wherever it was set. Automating signal detection seems to have created a problem for me... and honestly whenever I buy products that do things automatically they generally cause problems. Less is more! Im going to be looking for a switch that stays wherever it is set. UPDATE 2/29/22: I received a replacement from Amazon after a long troubleshooting back and forth with the maker of the device. The behavior is the same so my device was not defective and this is just the normal behavior. If you have two computers that are both kept on, the switch will randomly switch back and forth between the computers forcing you to constantly switch between computers to be able to type. It is maddening. Ive replaced it with a switch that has a hard-wired push button toggle and this works perfectly. I can now just set it to the device I want and forget about the switch. This is the behavior most people want. Because such a simple device has caused so much frustration, I do not recommend anyone waste their time with it.

This helped me eliminate having to use a second keyboard and mouse when I used my gaming computer, which is also connected to the same monitor as my work computer. I have a 4 port USB hub connected to it so I can fit my mouse and keyboard (Takes up 2 USB ports) and then it plugs into both PCs. Now I change my monitor input from one PC to the other, change my speakers to the right input, and tap the button on this switch and Im in business. I have seen a couple of times over the last week where my keyboard cut out for a second and I hear the USB ejection sound from Windows.. but that could be just a little power hiccup coming from my PC. The one negative Id say it that I have this at the back of my desk, between the edge of the desk and the wall, but it would be better if they could have gotten all of the USB inputs on one side. As it is I now have wires coming out of each side of it whereas so many electronic boxes keep it all on one side as much as possible. Small complaint. Happy with the product just the same.

I have two computers hooked up my computer monitor. I change the monitor back an forth with the input buttons on the side of the monitor. I have a single wireless keyboard and mouse. I use the Ugreen USB Sharing 2-port Switch to switch the keyboard and mouse to the appropriate computer. It works perfectly. It is totally simple to use. Just push the select button on the top one time when you want to switch to the other computer. I cut a 1/8th inch wide stripe of the glue-side of a post-it note and stuck it between the two little led lights, so that I would tell which side is lit...since the box is in a dark area beside the monitor. It works totally perfectly. Ive used it for a few months. Totally reliable. Best value for the money.

Wanted to use this to share my keyboard and mouse between my desktop PC and my work computer when working from home. The one flaw I will say this thing has is it only has 1 input USB port. This meant I had to use a hub if I wanted both keyboard and mouse connected. This actually ended up overly complicating what I was trying to do, as I didnt want to invest too much more money into it and I couldnt find an inexpensive and reliable USB hub. I dont know if there was a problem with the port, though each hub I tried had different issues, so I suspect the input port was fine. While it does work for switching that 1 USB port between 2 devices, it simply did not work out for me and I ended up replacing it with an IOGear switcher with 4 inputs, which works much better. Why not use a KVM switch? I didnt want to switch the V part of it, just the K and M.

I mean this could be a two word review. You need a 2 port USB switch? Buy this. It works. Here is how Im using it: I recently got an iMac and had originally hoped to use it in Target Monitor Mode but I missed the part where Apple stopped supporting that in 2014. No big deal, I have a monitor for my Win10/Hacintosh but I wanted to use just one mouse and Keyboard for both. I use a KVM at work so I am very used to using multiple systems and multiple screens. So I started looking fo solutions and asking around. Mouse: First purchase was a Logitech Triathlon. Besides being a really nice mouse, it can connect to up to three computers. There is a side switch that lets you switch between the computers. I have the USB dongle plugged into the Win10/Hacintosh because it lacks Bluetooth. It connected to the iMac using bluetooth automatically, no action by me. Switching is easy and as long as you are logged in, you can do a lot with just the mouse. As an example, I often use the Win10 system as a YouTube player. I dont need to type anything. Keyboard: For the Keyboard I got a UGreen USB Sharing Switch. This is a simple one in, two out switch. I ran my Red Dragon K580 in and sent it out using the supplied USB cables. The box is about the size of a pack of playing cars, flat black with a tiny, not very bright (in a good way) blue LED that moves to indicate one of the two cables. Its simple and it just works. Very nice. So now I have both systems sharing a Keyboard and Mouse and each driving their own monitor. Its a setup I like a lot and while it would have been nice to send everything to the iMac screen, I would lose the ability to have YouTube running in one system completely independent of the other like I can now. Total cost was $55 - $33 for the mouse and $14 for the switch. You would be hard pressed to find a good KVM for $55 and you would still need a mouse. Additionally by splitting the functions like I did I can switch just the mouse or just the keyboard if I choose. Downside of course is that switching is two presses not one but I can live with it. If you need/want to share a keyboard and mouse between two systems, I recommend this setup.

Sharing a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse between two PCs at one desk. I stuck the Logitech unifying receiver (the little USB dongle) in the switcher box, and connected the included USB cables to a USB port on each PC. Works perfectly, every time. No more moving the dongle back and forth between the two PCs. Its life changing, and unbeatable for the price.

Disappointed that it doesnt work well with my system (Windows XP / Windows 10) - the switching process seemed to lose track of the removable drives and getting them set up again was a hassle. Tried a couple of times, restarting between. Easier to return to physically switching the hub, alas.
