> 24 hourI had gotten this hard drive for my Xbox One and was concerned that the setup would be difficult, but it was INSANELY easy. For 2 TB, I am able to have all my games on my hard drive and easy to access using the Kinect. Additionally, the moment I plugged it in the Xbox gave me a prompt to set up the Hard drive which was simply giving it a name, naturally I went with Watson, due to my XBones increased capacity to remember and feel emotion. After that it asks if you want to use it as a default hard drive, and since mine was pretty full I said yes, so now all my games and everything downloads there. No need for additional outlets, takes only a minute to set up. Very satisfied with this purchase. (I would not go higher than 2 TB, because this will slow down the xbox, supposedly)

> 24 hourIve got several of these, and use them for backups and large data transfer tasks. So far, Ive never had one fail, and Ive been using them for a couple years. Its always possible to get a bad one with any electronic device, but my experience to date has been one of reliability. Watch the software though - it can be very useful if you want to arrange for scheduled backups, and I use it frequently with good results. However, one time on one PC I found the software was gobbling up all kinds of CPU cycles and making it impossible to do anything on that box. Uninstalling the software solved the issue (using the device itself afterwards was still fine), but if things get crunchy on your box, take a look at your services and processes and make sure the software isnt constantly trying to call home to mommy. This only occurred once, and on one PC (I have/maintain several), so it might have been an anomaly. Still good drives. Definitely recommend getting cases for them so they dont get all banged up. Protect your investment.

> 24 hourWorks as advertised and expected. Perfect for what I need to store and backup all my movies, music, documents, pictures.... Love how compact it is...it can easily fit in my pocket and weighs only 0.4 LBS. It comes with 18 USB 2.0/3.0 compatible data cable and works flawlessly right out of box, no driver, no software, no special setup required to run. This hard drive is USB powered from your PC or devices connected to so there is no AC cord/adapter required. Also I like its 3 year warranty, much longer warranty than 1 year warranty I typically get for other similar products. It works great with all of my devices I did tested with...Xbox, Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows XP, Macbook. It wont work on smart phones nor tablets. This is not a solid state drive (SSD) if you are looking for one. It also comes with the software to password protect and auto backup your files on this external hard drive. There is a protective case you can buy to protect this device but it is not included with the purchase.

> 24 hourAs a giant nerd, hard drives of all shapes and sizes and capacities are very important to me. Ive used many drives in the past and all of my Western Digitals seem to last longer than competitors and outperform all expectations. More specifically to this drive. Going on the road for three months I needed a drive that I could trust for all of my sensitive data, as well as various movies and entertainment. The Western Digital Passport was perfect for this. Not only did it have the capacity to store my >TB movie/TV Collection, It also had the resilience to survive a literal cross country trip. This drive bounced around in my bag on buses, airplanes, cars and sometimes just in my back pocket for a solid three months and is still alive and perfectly functional to tell the tale today. The USB 3.0 speeds are pretty awesome as well! The size is perfect. Capacity is great. As always, another great product from WD!

> 24 hourI am extremely disappointed in this purchase. I purchased this less than two months ago to replace another Western Digital external hard drive for Mac, and I am already having the same issue with no resolution. Initially the hard drive worked fine, but after 4-5 weeks it suddenly became very temperamental; claiming that the device was disconnected when I would shift position of the cord slightly. After a week or two of that, it was no longer recognizable, yet the light was on and it appeared to make noise as if it were on. My computer recognizes it is plugged in, but I am unable to access it. I have spent many hours trying to find a solution through the website and other sources with no solution. I work in two fields where we constantly need to be using external hard drives, and this is unacceptable. I am legally obligated to securely store data for three to five years for my job in academia. I have lost money in my photography job, as I am unable to access photos that I need to get to clients in a timely manner, not to mention the few dollars I spent to buy a third cord to make sure it wasnt a wiring issue. I have spent countless hours reprocessing photos that I had finished before because I keep my raw images on another disk. I gave this product two stars because it does have a three year warranty and I was able to spend an additional $10 for insurance in case I have to pay someone to retrieve the data from the disk. Unfortunately, I do not trust this brand any longer and I will not be using the warranty just so I can switch brands. Additionally, the company contacted me after I had complained about these issues via Twitter. Despite me sending them my personal information so they could resolve the issue, I have yet to receive a phone call or email from them.

> 24 hourThis is a very easy to use portable back up. Its one terabyte size stores your important cant loose data. I was able to copy large files off my Windows 8.1 laptop in a very short time. I didnt read the instructions (men dont do that) and was amazed at the ease that it worked. I also transferred data from my wifes Windows 10 with no issues. This appears well made and solid so taking it to work in a briefcase wouldnt be an issue. The files I set up are easy to access quickly from this device and very easy to add on a weekly basis. This is the best back up I have, and Western Digital is well know for quality.

> 24 hourWD is the go to external backup for my work laptop. I had issues with the SmartWare software - I contacted WD via the support number and the guy talked me through getting it set up. Super easy after I was able to get it loaded. He did tell me that the basic Windows backup works just as well, but I am using the Smartware for now. This model was faster then my previous version - backup didnt take long at all. The cable is a little on the shorter side - but it works for me since I dont like all the extra length lying around my desk. The drive is small, which is great as I occasionally need to bring it with me when I travel. I put it in this case

> 24 hourI was at first hesitant about buying an external HDD because there were so many to choose from but Im glad that I chose WD. Although there is a lot of accompanied software with the HDD most of it is beneficial and I would rather have that then no assistive software. SPEED: Im not using a stop watch and clocking how fast exactly file transfers take but lets just say its within a tolerable range of time depending on how large of a transfer you are doing. When I first got this I set up a backup of my most important documents and would say after about 30 minutes I had a large part of my computer backed up without issue. USER FRIENDLINESS: The included softwares really help you to get control over your data. Although some may not find use for them I like the fact that WD includes management softwares. All in all this was a great purchase for the price and I can rest well knowing that my past 6 years of computer data is safe and sound!

> 24 hourOverall it is good product. Failed after over 2 yrs (almost 3 yrs). During these years, I have to let windows repair it and re-format 3 time to re-use it. At the end, I download hard drive tools form wd site to test. The tool said it good, passed but can not performed the extended test. Bad tools.

> 24 hourEvery tech needs one of these. You dont need to use the software included which is a plus for vme as I like to chose. Excellent transfer rates with 3.0 usb. If your motherboard puts out low voltage as my Asus 79 Delux on the 2.0 but the 3.0s work fine on most. use the drivers on the WD site to get it to work. Works on 90% of all pcs without drivers. No AC needed one cord although proprietary. I recommend the accessory rubber case (WD Grip Pack) available on Amazon in multiple colors that comes with a extra cord also. It protect it and you get he extra cord. Pros Size 3.0 Transfer speed Cons proprietary cables.
