Greater than one weekJust started using it. It warms way-up. Could be a hand-warmer.

> 3 dayAll works fine, only thing is that it just doesnt get to the max speed listed in the specs, not real life proof... There are some lexar SSDs that go up to 900mbps... This one is listed as 540mbps but it often works at 300 or so... Yet I give it 4 stars because who needs that stupid high speed, it works fine.

22-11-2024GREAT SSD so far. Just hope it doesnt lose any memory like Ive heard rumors that the WD SSD drives do. Online ordering is FANTASTIC. Memory capacity choices were good. Delivery was fast and secure. No complaints. Im considering buying a higher capacity model.

Greater than one weekI love this little SSD. Its probably the fastest external drive Ive ever had the pleasure of using, and it doesnt even get hot during use. Its small and lightweight, and plugs in to any USB-C port on any computer and works with no hassle. So far its been an absolute treat, and its smaller than a credit card!

> 3 dayWestern Digital makes good drives, never had a problem with them. This drive is just as solid. I noticed something interesting though. I was being lazy, (my fault) and tried plugging the drive into the USB 3.0 hub on my DAS keyboard. It was NOT happy. I know I know, once I plugged directly into the PCs USB 3.0 port, all was well with the world. Just thought Id share to save somebody else the hassle.

> 3 dayWorks great right out of the box. My only complaint with the product is with the USB-C cable + USB A adapter. It has a groove on both the adapter and cable allowing it to plug in only one way which is a bit annoying. Other than that this is a superb product

> 3 dayBy far the fastest WD drive I own. As fast as I can double-click, and Ive tried. My only regret is not purchasing a larger capacity but I needed to vet this one first. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayNo matter how small you think it is, it’s smaller. It’s a solid value for the speed and convenience. This wouldn’t be the right drive for primary storage, but as a portable backup or for a road warrior with tons of extra data to carry around, the drive is perfect. Get a little case for it to keep it with the cable, or just stick an elastic band around both, and you’re ready to go.

> 3 dayWow. I was told both by a specialist who upgrades computers and knowledgable friend that using an SDD external drive would not speed up my computer. Wrong. I moved my entire operating system and cloned my internal drive to this thing and it is lightning fast. Apps that used to bounce on my iMac for 15-30 seconds now open almost as fast as they are clicked. Just look up the specs on your computer and make sure you have at least USB 3.0 (thats what I have). Otherwise youll get external bottleneck from the USB connection and it wont make a difference. To reiterate- this thing can make your computer outrageously fast. My internal drive has officially been relegated to the dust bin. I may use it for extra storage in the future.

Greater than one weekThis drive runs hot and fast. Having a 2 TB capacity is also a major plus. If your system has SSD for main storage you need a fast drive like this for backups and such.
