> 3 dayI bought the product, plugged it into my MacBook Pro. It recognizes it. Great, it seems that all is well now I want to back up my laptop onto it. Tried to back it up using the time machine and then for some reason it stopped being recognized and the icon on the desktop is gone. Now I have no idea what is wrong, tried to call, tried to have a live chat, but they are closed. Restarted my laptop, unplugged and plugged the external hard drive back in, and even connected it to my spouses MacBook and still nothing. Now I have a $200+ 1 TB external hard drive that was supposed to be plug in and ready to use, not working. I have no support or help and all I feel is anger for trying to buy something of quality, but instead, I got a terrible product and terrible service. Dont waste your time on this product buy something else.

> 3 dayI bought this ssd drive for being the “Startup” drive on my Mac computer. It works great! The computer speed has been raised and improved dramatically. Actually it is a “new” computer while using that external drive. By the way it is connected via the usb 3, it works much better then I expected.

Greater than one weekThe WD My Passport (2T) is a great product that surpasses other external drives I have try before. Compact, easy to use and FAST!

> 3 dayThis solid state drive greatly increased the storage capacity of my laptop and allowed me to keep GIS projects stored on an external drive that was fast enough that geoprocessing operations did not bog down excessively.

> 3 dayThe external drive works great so far no complaints. The price was a little high, but that is common place for a SSD drive compared to a HDD. I like the compact size, it doesnt take up much space when I use it my for my desktop or laptop.

Greater than one weekI love that the SSD has a password feature. It runs games smoothly and cuts down load times significantly. Obviously as you add files it will slow down games if you use it to game. Amazing Product.

> 3 daySeems to be working exactly as expected. Unfortunately it doesnt work like a regular flash drive and plug and play with my Samsung Galaxy S9. Guess it requires too much power. Runs a little hot when in use. Transfer rates are nice and speedy. No lag when watching movies of it.

> 3 dayMy first SSD drive, and though its more expensive than a standard drive, there is a big level of ease, knowing that there are no moving parts to crash and destroy the platter... and of course all of the data on it. Very happy to have it, after going through the agony of 2 hd crashes in the last 6 months, and nearly losing a ton of photography and writing. Very compact and well mad.

Greater than one weekNo matter how small you think it is, it’s smaller. It’s a solid value for the speed and convenience. This wouldn’t be the right drive for primary storage, but as a portable backup or for a road warrior with tons of extra data to carry around, the drive is perfect. Get a little case for it to keep it with the cable, or just stick an elastic band around both, and you’re ready to go.

> 3 dayI bought two of these WD 2TB SSD external drives in 2019. I use them for music archiving and playback on my internet radio show. I take good care of them, store them in a cool place, never have dropped them and dont expose them to temperature extremes or crazy high humidity. I can say with confidence that with reasonable care these will give you great, reliable.service for years. On another note I also own an older WD desktop external drive that I bought in 2015...it continues to work well and without issues. As an archivist I always say that if youre going to put all your valuable stuff on external drives, buy two and keep them identical. Never put all your eggs in one basket!
