Works fine - fast - USB cord is very short - like 3 or so inches long

I was tired of the environment taking forever to load while playing PUBG on Xbox 1. I bought this and it’s greatly improved. Granted, this will not fix connectivity issues, but if you have a good connection speed and still have spotty loading of PUBG this may fix your problem.

Quality ssd. I was very impressed by the size. I bought a 2TB one, and it is generally the length and width of a credit card or smaller. It is fairly thin, and can fit in a pocket very easily.

Wow. I was told both by a specialist who upgrades computers and knowledgable friend that using an SDD external drive would not speed up my computer. Wrong. I moved my entire operating system and cloned my internal drive to this thing and it is lightning fast. Apps that used to bounce on my iMac for 15-30 seconds now open almost as fast as they are clicked. Just look up the specs on your computer and make sure you have at least USB 3.0 (thats what I have). Otherwise youll get external bottleneck from the USB connection and it wont make a difference. To reiterate- this thing can make your computer outrageously fast. My internal drive has officially been relegated to the dust bin. I may use it for extra storage in the future.

(+) The memory is solid state so no moving parts should mean no losses from disk damage. (-) Its always warm to touch indicating continuous standby power consumption but no visible indicator (led) that it is storing data. Also it is roughly the same size as a hard disk drive and I expected it would be smaller in view of current high transistor/diode densities available. I have only been using it for a couple of weeks so no idea on durability.

It is incredibly small and could easily be used as portable storage, not just a backup drive. I have it dedicated to my MBP time machine and just keep it in the case until I am ready to use it. It is a great device, maybe a bit pricey. But, I recommend it.

Works great, however it does get warm and stays warm while connected even if it’s idle. The 1TB Samsung SSD I have only gets warm to the touch when being used above 75%. But no problem yet with the WD.

This is the perfect external hard drive for backing up selective computer files, photos or even a entire computer. The solid state construction makes for an extremely rugged storage device and much faster data transfer than traditional rotating disc drives. I now have established a regular schedule for backups with less time being spent. The expected reliability of this SSD, small size and fast transfer are great features.
