It’s always plugged into my ps4 as active storage...BEWARE: data can become corrupt if you don’t use appropriate surge protection! So far my ps4 has recovered data every time when it wasn’t plugged in to surge protector.

Easy to install hardware and software seems to work fine for now. However, (I never thought I would say this) I like the windows 10 backup process better.

Purchased to serve as my backup non-cloud system. Works great. The software that comes with it works great. Good value for the price point. I would purchase again.

This product has auto backup. That feature does not work if your computer is in sleep mode. WD has not, and will not provide guidance on how to wake the computer (using features like Windows Task Scheduler)--Ive been told that repeatedly in email contacts with WD and by phone. There is an abundance of technical support articles, but this is one WD will not help you with. There are work arounds, but I was surprised at how resistant WD is to helping customers.

I have had this for a month now. I currently use it as external storage for my PS4. I had zero issue hooking it up (plug and play) and my PS4 formatted it so it would work properly. I currently have it sitting next to my PS4 in my media table and have no issues with it. I also enjoy that it looks like the original PS4, with one shiny side.

This is my 3rd WD external drive, havent had issues with any of them.

Excellent disk. Compact, light and fast. I bought it to backup my Mac with Time Machine. At first I was unable to format it on MAC although I am not a novice user, so I come to think that the product was defective. I contacted WDs technical support and in a few minutes they helped me solve the problem. Now it works perfect. 100% MAC-compatible

So far, so good. The product does what it advertises. It plugs in simply to my laptop and enable direct transfer of files between laptop and external drive. I got this because I was out of memory on the internal hard drive of my laptop. Since installing the Passport Portable drive, I have been able to transfer all the largest files and now have plenty of working room on the laptop. Access to the external drive is fast and reliable. Have only had it for about a month, but, so far, so good.

I bought this after my Seagate quit working. Hands down, the WD is clearly superior in every way. Cheaper, faster and most of all, very easy to use and understand. Super quite and compact. Able to be transported only if really needed to be, but I bought the Lacdo EVA shockproof carrying case. That is a must have with this external Hard Drive. I love it.

Id recommend 2 TB if youre getting this for PS4. So far, I have 25 games on mine (with games ranging from 1 gig such as Minecraft to 62+ such as GTA) with 1.2 tb still available. Anything more is overkill in my opinion.
