> 3 dayI use this for my original PS4 console due to lack of storage. 2 Tera bytes of storage is great and will not get filled any time soon. Would like faster load times but would need SSD Instead. Still a good buy

> 3 dayThis is the third WD My Passport external hard drive Ive purchased over the last two years. I use them, along with both free and subscribed CrashPlan accounts, to back up the data on a variety of laptop and desktop PCs. The WD drives serve this purpose well; theyre incredibly easy to set up and use as either dedicated or multi-system drives, and -- like the internal WD drives Ive used over way more years than I care to admit to -- they run and run and run. Buy a good carrying case (I like the semi-hard cases; more room inside for the cable) and youre good to go for extended road trips with your laptop. WD also provides backup software with these drives, but I havent tried it.

> 3 dayDidnt work. Got error messages that the drive was full. WD website support link in supplied materials led to a dead page. No product support phone for WD; website couldnt resolve issue, and they suggested looking in their community support. I reached out to Amazon and they took care of me immediately, and is sending me a replacement overnight! Tried second one, this one had proper downloads and all, but still didnt work with Time Machine: wouldnt erase/said no room on HD. I then tried to use the WD-supplied software for their own backup software, but the instructions on how to use backup software with Mac didnt match what was downloaded. A very confusing two-hour experience. Saw some fixes online that involved doing some coding and partitioning, but no thank you. Ive had other brands for externals that worked immediately with my Macs, so Id guess that WD is more of a PC-friendly external.

> 3 dayThese work great and are reasonably priced. The reason for one star off is because I had to reformat in order to get it to work on a Mac and there was a pretty serious error during the formatting process that ended up costing me a lot of time. It would be nice if they offered a Mac and PC version to choose from. This is my second one and theyve both performed great except for the one hiccup and the size of these is hard to beat.

> 3 dayIt’s always plugged into my ps4 as active storage...BEWARE: data can become corrupt if you don’t use appropriate surge protection! So far my ps4 has recovered data every time when it wasn’t plugged in to surge protector.

Greater than one weekThis passport is about 1-2 mm smaller than the 2017 version and obviously looks a bit different on the outside. Same quality as the 2017 version. Fits the Lacdo Waterproof Hard EVA case I bought for it quite well. It uses USB 3 and works best with a USB 3 connection. DO NOT USE WITH A USB HUB -- even a USB 3 hub! This drive draws all its power from your computer -- a power level too high for most hubs (learned this the hard way). Direct connection to your computer only, please! Flexible, easy to use. you will like this drive, especially if you travel.

> 3 dayWorks exactly like it should. Not sure that I am a fan of the software that it comes with and would rather use it without. I mainly just use it to have a copy of my word documents and store my steam games. I can play my steam games off of this no problem. Not a fan of the light on it either. I would rather it just stay on without blinking whenever its being used. Ive put a small piece of electrical tape over it to keep it from bothering me

> 3 dayReceived the product but I couldnt get it working. After testing the drive with another cable from a previous MyPassport, I determined it was a bad cable (others have reported this as well). Currently waiting for WD to get these cables in inventory. They required a call back in 24 to 48 hours to see if they are in stock. I called for the 2nd time today and asked to wait another 24-48 hours and call back. I find it hard to believe they cannot place a request for the cable and send it when the stock is replenished rather than my continuing to call every few days.

> 3 dayWorks like the other WD drives I have. It has all that extra software on it, but you dont have to use it if you dont want to. It also has a proprietary connector on its cable. Not sure Im loving that--what if something happens to that wire? Anyway, Ive had great luck with this brand in the past and Im expecting the same here; I would recommend this product.

> 3 dayIve had it for about a month now and it is consistently reliable. I periodically do full system and fill backups to this hard drive and it has been speedy and reliable. I also do incremental backups every Sunday and have not had an issue with this hard drive. I dont recommend using the backup software that comes with this device, however. I personally use the free version of EaseUS Todo; it works perfectly with this device. Definitely recommend this hard drive for backing up your computer.
