Paired up easily. Set up a schedule to control some lamps, no additional fees or purchases. Works with Alexa. Only drawback is youre adding two more devices to your router. Which can be a problem for families or homes with multiple devices connected to the WiFi and cheap routers. Youre at the mercy of your WiFi network range as well. To no fault of the device, it is working perfectly.

In order to use this device, you have to download yet another app called Smart Life, set up the plug and then add it to the Alexa skills. I have not been able to figure out how to turn on the fan for 6 hours in the laundry room. I can turn it on but not schedule it to turn it off. The app is in very MVP mode. When you click on many of the buttons you get this is for demo only message. Hopefully they are counting clicks to see where people are looking to use the app.

The device does need the application downloaded to your phone to operate, but was easy to use and I was able to connect the devices to my Alexa with very little problem. The most difficulty I found with setup was having to try connecting to my home network. Both devices took two attempts, but were quite stable once connected and responded to voice commands with no problem. They are primarily a switch and have to variability, such as a dimming capability, but work great for automatic switching of a lamp on or off etc.

I love these!! The directions weren’t super helpful but I figured it out easily enough. Download the app for the plugs first then use your log in from that app to connect to Alexa. Super awesome to say, “Alexa turn on the lamp!” And she does! Haha

Instructions were a little unclear in reference to what android app to install, otherwise setup was easy.

Works OK so far, but this device worries me from a security point of view. Cheap but scary. I disabled all the Android Smart Life apps permissions in Settings->Apps after configuring the device. Why did the app literally need every permission known to man on my Android phone to simply configure the device? What REALLY worries me is the amount of data the device moves to/from The Cloud---constantly. Is it eavesdropping on my local LAN traffic? Or, is it a Trojan Horse waiting for instructions from hackers lurking in the shadows in another country? Over the last 7 days the device downloaded 18 Mbytes and uploaded 135 MBytes of data (see photo)! More than a bit worrisome. The rate has slowed down to ~120 Kbyte/6 MBytes down/up per 24 hour period over the last few days, but what possibly can be going on? I dont want a rogue IOT device in my house participating in botnet shenanigans!

It took me forever to figure this out. You must use the same email for Smart Life and Amazon or it will not discover the device.

Original: Seems to be working in its own app, and as a group under the Wink skill. I will bump up to five stars if it keeps working. Note that this is not a dimmer. It is relay controlled, and it makes quite a loud click when it turns off and on. Nothing too bad, but just know you wont be able to control your light brightness with this. Update: Lights are kicking off and back on every so many minutes. It lasts about 1/2 second. You can tell by the light flicker, and the loud clicking of the relay. Down one star to 3. I will return. Update 12/28: I have learned to live with these plugs. The light turning off and back on had something to do with the apps timer function. Both now work reliably. My only complaint is they do not dim (yes, I knew they did not dim when I purchased them, but its still a negative), and that they are quite loud when they switch. Update 4/11/18: Inadvertent off/on problem returned. It just flashes off for a second every 10-15 minutes, and you can hear the relay click from the next room. Do not recommend this product. There are far better and less expensive options out there.

I have eight of these smart outlets and just ordered two more. The voice control works great with my Amazon Echo Dots. I also have them working with my Google Home. I havent had any problems with any of them so far. Besides using voice control, the Smart Life app works very well when at a remote location with internet access.. I use three of them to control lamps, one to turn my work bench power on/off, one to turn my electric blanket on before I go to bed, one controls a battery charger, one powers a computer monitor on/off and the last one turns on/off a foot heating pad under my desk. (Dont have to crawl under the desk anymore to turn it on or off). Love the voice control with Alexa. A few minutes before I go to bed at night, I just say Computer, turn on electric blanket. I use the wake-up word Computer instead of Alexa. I highly recommend these cool gadgets. :) Six months later - I now have 10 of these smart outlets and havent had any problems with any of them. All are still working fine. Im still using Echo Dots and a Echo Show to control them and can even do it from my car while driving. I plan on buying a couple more. Great product! EDIT: (12/09/18). Purchased a few more and now have 18. All have worked well and none have failed.
