Works very well as a smart power source control. If your phone app doesnt do what the instruction said after connect to its wifi for installation. Dont give up yet. Just restart your Iphone like I did and it will follow the instruction again.

I purchased more than one manufacturer of wifi outlets and Wion was one of the purchases. It was the only one that would not connect to WIFI unless I gave access to my PC remotely to a WION tech person. No thank you. I sent it back. The other wireless outlets connected with my wifi easily and without any tech help. Just follow the instructions on your phone as you go along. Not wion. Wion gives you weird queries like reboot your Wion app Enter your WLAN to connect to your wifi? What is a WLAN? Is it my SSID? Is it my wifi name? I hate going to GOOGLE to figure this out. Luckily I had the other wifi outlets to use which did not ask me to do weird things or have a tech enter my PC remotely!

I have found that when I plug more than one phone into the USB ports, the unit starts turning itself on and off repeatedly until I unplug one of the phones. It cant handle even one iPad before it starts doing this. It also doesnt matter if anything plugged into the 120 Volt outlet is on or off. Not built to sufficient capacity to handle charging of more than one device. I do like the nightlight that comes on and off according to sunrise/sunset times. Thats pretty cool.

The device itself is solid and for the most part okay. Where it falls apart is the app, which is probably the only reason alot of us buy this. The app is TERRIBLE!! Yes, thats terrible in all caps and two exclamation points. When you open the app it takes at least a good 10 seconds to load up the different devices (if your lucky). Ive now been using WiOn for about a week now with three of these devices. The app sometimes picks up all my devices but more often only picks up one, two, or none of my devices. I then have to turn off my wifi on my phone, switch to mobile data and then maybe as the app refreshes It will pick up another device. Super inconsistent and unreliable. Theres also times that the app is unable to connect to wifi even though all other devices (computer, tablet, tv, and even the phone itself) have no problem connecting so I know its the app and not my wifi modem/device. The reason I gave this two stars rather than one is because in the rare occasion that you are able to use the app properly, a verity of features are available. The ability to set a timer or multiple timers on each light is awesome. The devices seem to have some memory on them because they do seem to remember the timer even after unplugging the Wion device from the power source and plugging it back in. The feature allowing you to see the power usage by the device is also nice. Overall the device itself is good. The device alongside the WiOn app... not so good... at all. Id recommend this for anyone primarily looking to use this for its timer feature. Probably not the best device to use on your main home light source as youll probably be left in the dark while trying to get the app to load just so you can turn your lights on (saying this from experience... ughhhh)

We use these (we have two) when we are on vacation on its radon auto. And they are great to turn on light before entering house at night. They are just great......

Hi all with connection issues. Use you 2.4ghz wifi to connect this device. 2.4 gets out farther. Not a lot of data so 5ghz is not necessary. I have several of these devices and work fine indoors and out. One is even mounted inside a metal timer box!

These are a challenge to get linked . I got it once, had to redo my wifi and then I couldn’t link for a bit. I finally got to work again. They are nice, it’s nice you can control from phone. I do like them a lot when I finally got to work :)

I bought this years ago and was able to do the setup without issues. It worked fine. Every once in a while will have an issue with the app but seems like they have been doing some improvements on it. A couple of weeks ago got a new router so had to reconnect this and my other WiOn switches. Was not able to connect them to my Wifi at the time. It looked like they were not supported anymore so I unplugged them. Today was looking online and decided to give them a try. They connected pretty easy. Actually the setup was much easier than what I recall originally. Not sure what has changed from a month ago to today. The app seems to be working better than before. It worked so well that I went ahead and bought a couple more since they are a lot cheaper now than when I originally bought them back in 2016.

Setup was very easy and having 2 usb ports, that are always on, is very convenient. I purchased this item because I was told it would work with Alexa, which it does NOT! It does, however, have some very useful features that make it a good buy. I love that it reports back how much power is going through it at any given time, and knows sunrise and sunset times based on zip code. If they come out with a skill for Alexa, or IFTTT, theyll get that 5th star!
