> 3 dayOwn over a dozen of these. Work great. Android app could do with updates and additional interfaces, like Alexa.

> 3 dayWorks just fine, but theres a very bright green light around the USB ports that makes this almost impossible to use in a dark bedroom. I ended up putting a piece of electrical tape over it, but this made the USB ports unusable. The primary reason I bought it was the smarten up a white noise machine so I could incorporate it into my Google assistant good morning and good night routines - in that regard it worked perfectly.

Greater than one weekIf you would like to have your Wi-Fi plugs work with other WiFi devices, DO NOT BUY WION products! For example, if you purchased a Skybell for your front door, you can not use IFTTT to implement a rule that would turn on your front light using WiON if the Skybell detects motion or the doorbell is pressed. Unfortunately the folks at WiON have no intention of partnering with IFTTT at this time. This is too bad. I now have buyers remorse for 4 WiON products that I purchased. I should have purchased TP Link.

> 3 dayFirst of all, the bright green nightlight that you cant shut off is ridiculous. I opened it up, put heat shrink tubing over the led bulbs, and closed it up. It is now dark. The WiOn app is pretty bad too. However, I was able to find some working code that integrates it with Home Assistant (Cloud-based though) Otherwise, this is cheap and effective. I use it for my 3d printer. The main plug turns the printer on/off and the usb is for the Octoprint server (and old LG G7) which stays on and I dont want smart controlled.

> 3 dayHad problems with the final step of setting up the device. When entering the password, I would get an error message. 1st time I contacted customer service they had a tech call me. Once on with tech he did not have me run through the set up again are or check to make sure I was inputting information correctly. The tech went right into a script of telling me that my computer was corrupt and they needed to run diagnostics on it. For around $200. He said my fire wall on my system had too many intruder attempts from my gaming, social media and porn habits. He insisted this was the problem and he needed access to my computer. I hung up. I don’t own a computer. I have an iPad and an iPhone I run the app. After trying to self diagnose and googling possible problems with it, I recontacted tech. After taking my info they told me they would have a technician call me. I asked if it was free service to have tech work with me and they answered yes. Then I mentioned the last experience that they tried to sell me a service at about $200. And they text chat ended and disappeared. After playing with the WiON smart plugs a bit more I figured out that I needed to copy my password from my router page and paste in the box on my WiON app set up page. And not type it in. For some reason that was the issue. The plugs work great. I am concerned about WiONs costumer service ethics.

> 3 dayIve got two of Wions products, this one and the outdoor version too. Timer functions are great but support is non-existent. Could not get either of these to work reliably on 4G or an outside WIFI network e.g. from work. I suddenly had a thought about wifi security having had issues years ago with another product. As soon as I set the 2.4GHz on the router to the least secure (WEP) - bingo, works every time. Not ideal I know but I use 5Ghz for other stuff at home and all I need to do is hide the 2.4GHz SSID for added security. It is not only Wi0n I had this issue with, other smart sockets too, those are now working as well. Hope this helps someone out.

10-06-2025Hi all with connection issues. Use you 2.4ghz wifi to connect this device. 2.4 gets out farther. Not a lot of data so 5ghz is not necessary. I have several of these devices and work fine indoors and out. One is even mounted inside a metal timer box!
