> 3 daySo far, awesome. The course gets you going and adding things to Minecraft very quickly. We just finished module 3. Easy to follow, even if you know nothing about software development. They repeat everything, often and slowly explain the code, but after you have already built something. My 10 year old son has a form of autism and problems focusing, but he is doing fine. The course presenter is great, cracks my son up. We had a question about running out of memory (counter-intuitively, you might need to decrease the heap memory allocation in Eclipse->Run->Edit Configurations from 1024 to 512 to avoid out-of-memory errors while running Minecraft). and Youth Digital responded back within the hour. I did not expect to be using Gimp to make our own graphics. its a lot more detailed that I had figured on. Love it so far. Cant imagine the 1500 dollar summer camps are that much better, if they are at all.

Greater than one weekMy husband bought this as a birthday gift for our daughter, who turned 8 this past Saturday and is obsessed with Minecraft. So far, were very impressed. I have to think that some of the reviews that comment on difficulty downloading & installing the various parts are a bit outdated, as we had to only download and install a single 500+MB file which took care of all the dependencies automatically. It seriously couldnt have been any easier.

> 3 dayI will re-review after my son has had a couple of months experience with this. First impression, though, is not overly positive. This course is for an old (1.6.4) version of Minecraft, and a very old (JRE 1.6) version of Java. This caused hours of confusion and problems on my sons first attempt to start the course. You need to download Eclipse (a heavyweight Java development environment), which is slow, and when he started Eclipse per the video instructions (provided by a happy/chatty guy that my son seems to like but I find insufferable) was greeted with a blizzard of errors.

> 3 dayMy seven-year-old son was so excited by this product. Dad and son have spent hours together modding Minecraft with it. His first mod was to create his own custom sword and he was ecstatic. Dad liked the fact that he and his son had something we could do together that was a significant bonding experience. Well thought-out, and easy to work with, this is a product I HIGHLY recommend if you have a child who is a fan of Minecraft. Cant say enough good things about this software. (Works with Mac OSX too!)

> 3 dayI hate forking out big chunks of money when Im not sure if my kids will actually like and USE the product. Im happy that we took the plunge. Both my boys, ages 9 & 11, really enjoy everything about this program. We had no major issues with installation, all support questions have been answered within 24 hours, and the boys are learning. They now know more about computers than my husband, lol. It was definitely worth the money. If your child likes Minecraft and is always wanting to install new mods this will be great for them. They will learn to create their own and hopefully the knowledge will lead them to a career they actually enjoy rather than work that they tolerate.

> 3 dayBought this for our sons 9th birthday and it was his favorite gift ever - he was so sad when the course was over! Excellent method of editing Minecraft java code that is very engaging, productive and educational. Codecademy et al. didnt connect with the simple coding results, this integration with making a mod kept him incredibly engaged. The videos are very well done and had him laughing out loud. EXCELLENT support response - very fast, very personal and very well tailored for kids. Hardest part now is waiting for Mod Design 2 !

> 3 dayMy son and I are racing through this course right now -- we bought it some time ago, but didnt install it until recently. We just found out their website is being discontinued 2019 Feb 28th. Since the course runs from the website, this means the courses will become inaccessible.
