> 3 dayOur sons love this course. Our 8 year old loves everything Minecraft so this was a win-win for us. I sit through the lessons and take notes just in case but they havent need me or the notes. They enjoy the quizzes and troubleshooting mods just as much as the lessons. We are all always excited to see the items they have designed in the actual game. I appreciate the way that Justin explains it on a level that is easy to understand but continues to use the technical terms so the kids actually learn the coding language!! The skills they are learning have easily transitioned to other formats. Each lesson takes approximately 30 - 45 minutes. Some of the design lessons took longer just because of the creative process. Justin is very engaging in the videos and the lessons are far from boring. The order of each lesson builds upon the previous lesson and offers a quick review. We have no problems with crashing or videos/content that didnt load or play properly. We plan to do many more courses with youth digital.

> 3 dayI was a bit hesitant at first given how much this costs, but our 8 and 10 year olds love it. One thing that it does is not to focus too much on programming or Java itself but in how to get a mod built. At several points, it also goes through a trouble-shooting exercise to teach how to figure out why something isnt working correctly. This isnt really a general how-to-program course, but it is a fun way to introduce kids to programming by letting them get to the interesting parts while not having to focus on the annoying parts of programming.

> 3 dayPiece of crap!!!! Dont waste your money. I could not even begin this process! Could not get past a subscription charge of 249.00 to use my voucher code! Basically, I paid Amazon 159.00 for a box of stickers. Youth Digital has no customer service. You speak to a machine. I did receive an email once with directions that got me the same result NOTHING! PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT.

> 3 dayGreat educational program. My 11 year old son loved it. It was engaging and taught him a lot of coding, plus he has retained what hes learned. Great mix of video to teach a concept and practical application. He didnt need to use access to online tutors/instructors, but based on the feedback he received for his final mod he tuned in Im sure the online assistance would have been good. I could tell by the feedback he received, someone from youth digital ran it and used it in minecraft. They provided a very personalized and thoughtful critique.

> 3 dayBought this on woot.com (actually owned by Amazon) several months ago for $150. Glad I didnt spend $250. This is supposedly targeted at 8-14 year old kids but my son says its really for 7 year old kids. Hes 14 but since hed done no programming at all, I thought this would be good for him. He watched the first few classes and basically put it down. Finally I got him to agree to watch if I watched with him. I get this is aimed at little kids but teacher (Justin?) says in 20 mins what could easily be said in 3 mins or maybe even less. I understand why he doesnt want to do this even tho hes a big gamer including an expert minecrafter. Once he gets thru the whole course, Ill likely update my review... he says hell definitely do it and it will help him in the long run but its just twooooo loooonnnggg winded.

> 3 dayMy daughter continue to have issues with the software. For now she is emailing the support on a daily basis without success. She is using a Macbook and we are having many problems with integration with the actual game

> 3 dayThe program itself is worth 5 stars- the support ranges from 0 stars to 4 stars. My 10 year old loved this thing- got it for Christmas and within 3 days was on level 11. Problem is there was a hang-up in his code that he was trying to get straightened out. When the support questions are easy, you get a timely response, when they are more difficult, different people are assigned to them and the response takes a lot longer. When they want to buy time, you get a message like this after a couple days:

> 3 dayNo effective support. Takes days to get a reply and the only way to contact support is by their chat system which is not live. No child will find this kind of help to be appealing. Mine certainly dont. I honestly believe their claim to provide helpful teachers is a vacuous claim.
