Zoo Med Wood Tortoise House

The concept of these Boxes is nice. I own two of them and really do like the set up. Heres the issue- they dont last. Not at all. The boxes are not made to handle potential moisture. Little spills of water- or worse urine- and the bottom of this wood structure will begin to expand and contract. Which leads to warping- and smell. I did contact the company ZooMed about this and was told we do replace the bottom of these boxes but the buyer pays shipping. This to me says we know the boxes are faulty and do not last. Needless to say the quote they gave me on shipping was 39$.... thats laughable. Basically they are selling you a set up designed to fail and waiting for you to contact them for a replacement peice so that they can further profit from the poor design. I can buy a peice of wood to fit the bottom of the box for much less then 39$. But honestly the sides of the box toward the bottom are not doing well either - even with meticulous cleaning and covering the bottom with plastic. The cheap wood just cant take the heat and even the slightest moisture. Save yourself the headache and dont buy this box! Design your own with nicer materials that will last more then 6 months.

Worked out well for my sons tortoise. It’s big but not too big. Easy to put together. Great tortoise house.

I was very impressed with the quality of this product. This is a huge space upgrade for my tortoise, and the looks arent too bad. Took a little effort to put together, but its weatherproof and durable. I would highly recommend this for anyone with a small tortoise.

Great product. Nice home for your tortoise ? I have two of these homes for both my tortoises. They both love their homes. Less stress on them due to the fact that they can not see their reflections, as the pens are made from wood.

I removed it from the box and it was broken in a couple places that are needed to put it together. I was pissed and wanted to return it. Instead I glued the pieces together. I know I cant make one on my own for the same price and the broken parts were fixable its just irritating when you buy something and it comes broken. I took pictures of it so I can maybe get a discount. My Russian tortise on the otherhand could care less what I went through to build him a comfy home and he seems to really like it. He is definetly not as stressed as he was in his old glass house.

My boyfriend put it together with ease and my tortoise Bridget loves it!

Dont even try to get it. You are going to try to return it and after is put together you gonna end up like me putting it in the trash.
