Zoo Med Wood Tortoise House

My boyfriend put it together with ease and my tortoise Bridget loves it!

Beautiful, sturdy house for my 5 yr old leopard tortoise. So far no issues with warping or rotting or anything. plenty of room for him to roam and much better than a glass tank!

Fitment wasn’t perfect, took a bit of work to line it up. I think is going to suit the needs of my Russian well though!

Disappointed The end pieces that are on the opposite sides were very short we took it down and put it back together. This is SO SUPER CUTE! It works great and my tortoises LOVE their new home! I think it is adorable that it is named Tortoise House because its EXACTLY what it is! They had a very similar yet larger enclosure before but have quickly and happily adjusted--safe from the cats. Thank you so very much! QUALITY!

Disappointed. Purchased two of these and both smelled of chemicals and still do after a week. I still cant put my tortoises inside for fear of them inhaling something that may kill them. In addition I had to drill holes as neither tort house had properly drilled holes.

I bought a new cage for our little cold blooded tortoise. Out of the bat, you need to follow closely the assembly instructions, if you dont pieces wont fit. Even then some pieces are longer than they should, I did a few pictures of the mismatch lengths. Overall it aint a major issue, but it would be better if the sizes were accurate. As other posters have pointed out wood is on the cheap side, and some wood might come splint. Again this aint in itself a major concern unless its on a key section, youll be fine. Now the wood is on the cheap side, so I took extra steps to protect it, first I stain it dark wood (to match my furniture) and then I applied lacquer. To add longevity to this cage I did the mat on the bottom. Overall I give it a 4 star but I might a 3.5 would be more accurate. It aint bad, its just a standard wood cage with soft wood and a few mismatch corners. It looks very nice and time will tell if its a $100 dollar bill worth. But Im happy for my buddy so a 4 star fits the bill. I took some pics for you to see. Enjoy a good buy overall.

The tortoise house is perfect for a small tortoise. The divided space gives the turtle space to either get some sun or find a hiding space.
