9 Shinto Saw Rasp

> 3 dayI have an expensive rasp for woodworking and it always was tearing into the wood. Someone pointed me towards this rasp and I am floored. I just got it and rasped away, I can not believe how powerful this thing is. And you need much less effort to work with it! And it makes a very satisfying sound somehow. More woody than metal. I am hooked!

> 3 dayThis Shinto rasp is the real deal and very finely made. One side is coarse for faster material removal and the other side is finer. Follow up a file for a really smooth finish when working with wood. The one advantage of this rasp Is that it wont become clogged like a typical rasp. Definitely worth the few extra dollars if you can spare it. Made in Japan and good quality.

> 3 dayThis is the best darned saw Ive ever had! Ive been a woodworker for 40 years and Ive never had a saw that cut so easily and well. Im building a wooden boat now and this saw is indispensable.

21-11-2024Love it. As the title says, this thing chomps its way through wood effortlessly. I havent used it long enough to experience any hand cramping as other users have mentioned. The dual sided cutting is brilliant and nice option to have either rough TPI for aggressive stock removal and a higher TPI side for smoother stock removal. I wish these came in curved options too for better rounding in tight spaces. But this one works awesome. I try to use it as much as I can.

> 3 dayDoes the job faster than a regular wood rasp. Used it to shape the neck of my koa wood tenor ukulele. I like how the fine side cleans up after using the coarse side. Makes finish sanding so much easier.

> 3 dayExcellent, 2-sided cutting rasp, with medium & fine-toothed sides. Easy to keep planar. Could benefit from a dipped, rubber grip at the tip. Think Ill make one. Think Ill buy another for a gift.

Greater than one weekTo echo other reviewers, this thing is a beast for removing material. And the price is hard to beat.
