Arrived late, Speaker volume is low.

I am a student...I write papers, watch movies, check email, play a random game or two. This computer meets or exceeds all of my needs. I love the way the keyboard feels and having the number pad is a plus. If you are prone to getting frustrated easily, are computer illiterate, and feel you cant pick up very basic computer tasks with the help of youtube and other tutorials then this might not be the lap top for you. I just got hacked on my previous computer, and so Im actually appreciating the S mode for a few months, but I can tell its very easy to remove - again, if youre willing to take five minutes to figure it out. Supposedly memory can be added easily - using YouTube university and a screwdriver. I find it very fast, the screen is crystal clear, and it has so far been able to handle any task Ive thrown at it. I do not consider myself very computer literate, so another plus to this machine is that its helped to push me out of my comfort zone and into understanding laptops better while I streamline startup and other functions, and understand workings through the limitations of the S setup. Sleek, sturdy, straightforward...feels like I should have paid a lot more. Only reason I cant give it five start is because Im still getting used to the mouse pad placement and I cant help but compare it to higher end, much more expensive machines.

Machine is a really great budget machine. I got it for my wife for school but more than just a throw away machine. In the standard form, it was nothing great. Adding more RAM woke it up a lot. Better overall performance.

I wanted to love this computer. It was a great price for the specs. I returned because the battery duration is horrible! I called Acer because the charger was getting so hot when I left it plugged in while working. They advised to charge it fully and remove the cord. When doing that the battery lasted no more than three hours. I called Acer about the problem. We performed some type of action that was suppose to help, it did not. The seven hour battery life is false advertisement.

Awful - started having problems after 6 months, especially with the cursor and keyboard.

This was a gift to my two nieces. They say it is much faster than their old one and it makes video learning much easier.

It is so so slow. Painful. To order, unwrap, set up, wipe clean, wrap, ship back... what a time drag. I suspect all of the software that comes with this is just completely bogging it down. It reminded me of how our computers performed back in the 90s. Enter a command, go get a cup of coffee to check and see if it was done yet. It was cheap. The display was great. If it only functioned a little better I probably could have lived with it. I gave it a two star rather than a 1 just for the display and beauty of the unit.

First, I am not a tech person! I read the reviews and needed something for school work. I had and older laptop that was super slow. This laptop is super fast and works great for school work. It made a world of difference for me. It was easy to take out of S-mode and it can be upgraded to get more storage. I don’t game, so I am not sure how the laptop would perform that way. Bottom line, It’s a great buy for the price as long as your just doing basic stuff! Super happy with my purchase!
