> 3 dayThis will never produce ice cold Arctic air no matter what you do. If you buy thinking it will cool a small room well or make you cold you’ll be a bit disappointed. This works extremely well as a small fan with slightly colder air than just a regular floor fan. Fairly quiet and does have an option to turn off the light, and has very easy to figure out controls. Only major complaint is all the water. There is water EVERYWHERE after using this. It drips onto the table it’s on, looking inside the device there’s water dripping right next to the electronic parts of the device with nothing to separate the wires from the dripping water. I had to empty it out and take it apart to completely drain it of its water surrounding the wires and electrical parts. Definitely wouldn’t put it in a kids room due to all the water and electricity so close.

> 3 dayI bought this unit to cool my bedroom so that I could turn off my central heat and air. It made no sense to cool the entire house if I could just stay in one room and cool that. I was hoping that this unit would be a money saver as my money doesn’t go as far as it used to. Although I found it to blow cool air consistently, it did not cool the entire room. The instructions to for best results to use ice cubes but I don’t have an icemaker, so I just used water. The results were mediocre and I returned it.

> 3 dayI got it before it dropped to 3 stars but at most you will point this at yourself while you sleep and get cool air. Dont expect cold air or it to cool your bedroom even if its closet size. I add ice cubes all the time and blast it on turbo mode to feel anything. would i recommend you pick this up? Nah, save and get a window unit. or buy a 5-10 gallon bag of ice put it in a bucket and place a box fan on top.

> 3 dayWorks well for the first couple of times, lightweight and easy to from my bedroom to office, not effective enough particularly in hot weather and plastic made of looks not elegant enough.

> 3 dayWorks like a charm! The unit isnt big enough to act like an AC but its good enough and much cooler than a fan

> 3 daymy air conditioner in my apartment has been out for 2.5 weeks. supposedly they ordered a new A/C unit to replace ours, but it still hasnt been replaced. luckily it had been cool enough outside to crack the window to let some air in at night and i could get some sleep. it is the end of november but still 80+ degrees F in florida. i bought this out of desperation to help me get some sleep. i would absolutely recommend this to anyone who needs some relief. it definitely is not strong enough to cool my whole apartment, but it is perfect for me to get some rest and have by my bed and feel comfortable. i made sure to freeze the filter before the first use, as well as put ice and cold water from the fridge in the reservoir. this works perfectly for helping you cool down in a warm situation where a regular fan isnt cutting it. it is worth buying as an inexpensive option, but obviously is not as good as an A/C unit that costs a couple hundred bucks. i have the tshirt rag under it as the foam feet on the bottom left tiny scuffs on my table and i wanted to prevent more. the scuffs came off with water and a paper towel, so no big deal

> 3 dayIve seen some of the other reviews complaining this little evaporative cooler fan isnt blasting cold air...well jeez, for $40, youre not going to get central air conditioning. I set mine on my patio table (here in hot sunny Arizona), keep the dampened cooler pad grid in the freezer so it can chill, grab a cup of ice cubes and a bit of water, pour into to the top of the unit, install the frozen pad grid, and turn it on. It doesnt put out really cold air, just cooler air. It has an adjustable vent so you can aim it up or down. Its not all that quiet, especially in Turbo mode, but not an issue outside for me. I do understand some reviewers mentioning the lighting issue (because they are trying to use this to help them sleep). Even with all the LED light options turned OFF, the power and mode LEDs (amber), still stay lit, and shine through the plastic housing. Duct tape should resolve that. Overall, I didnt expect greatness from this little box, but it does beat a regular desktop fan (and my outdoor ceiling fan) that just blows hot air around. It doesnt take up a lot of space, and the small Micro-USB cable doesnt get in the way, or become difficult to manage. Arctic...no, cool breeze....sure. Long lasting...only until the ice cubes melt and the pads dry out, but by then, Im ready to head back indoors for more ice, and a cocktail refill. Cheers!

Hello
> 3 dayIf youre deciding to buy or not like I was, here are few points. This is not an A/C. Dont expect it to cool of room or make ski slope snow. It is personal desk fan. Once you accept that, you can decide if you want it. I like it and Im not disappointed. First let say that evaporative cooling is a myth. It does exist in theory, but in real life is totally inefficient. What you get is a mini humidifier and desk fan with the added benefit of vapor mist. The vapor mist is the part to experiment with. Freezing the filter did not show any help. Keeping it wet is just fine. The reason is that in hot room ice melts right before your eyes. That also applies to water in the reservoir. Standing water warms up rather quick in a hot room and defeats the cooling idea. So the solution that seem to help is filling the reservoir with just enough water to keep it from running dry. Maybe quarter of the tank or less, and keep adding ice instead of water. Seating in front of fan in hot weather feels good, and keeping the water cold makes cooler breeze. You can also put little bottle cap with scent inside the unit and have room freshener. My favorite is peppermint oil. I run it at low since the fan is noisy on high setting and I want just a breeze, not a tornado. When it becomes really hot I turn on A/C, but for spring weather that fluctuates from hot to cold this thing is just fine.

Greater than one weekUpon first use, I found the unit easy to use without reading the directions. I would suggest distilled water to keep down contaminants. It does what it says I am well pleased with the unit overall. The only thing in the description that I was a little mislead to think it had a built in battery pack so you could use it just about anywhere. Cant give 5 stars for that reason. If you want to take this camping and use inside your tent or over your hammock I would suggest an external portable power pack for the unit then you would be golden. Overall I am impressed know the design is based on a swamp cooler which works better in higher humid areas than areas with low humidity. Southern states and states like AZ will find this unit great to use, Northern states may not get the same results. But was well worth the investment! Even small enough to pack away in a backpack if I want!
