This firestarter is ginormous in length and thickness. It would take a long long time to wear this puppy down, which is exactly why I like it. It is not too heavy or really bulky to keep in my survival pack. You will get a lot of hot strikes with this and it will stow away nicely. Honestly, what more could you ask for from a firestarter. My only critique is the outer coating gets on your hands, but hey, in an actual situation where you are using this thing, something tells me making a fire is a bit higher on the priority list than having black hands. I give it 5 stars and will buy this same one again after it gets used up in say, 30 years!

Easy to use

As with many other Uberleben items I have purchased, this proves to be of very high quality. The striker even has an edge sharp enough to throw plenty of sparks from the rod. Oddly, this is not the case with many other Ferro Rod/striker combinations from other makers.

Pretty big. Better than the ones you buy in camping stores. Worth investing in for camping or survival kit.

Was a gift for someone else

Over all the best one i have ever owned! The diameter and length is really amazing and definitely gives you a feeling of real security that youll have fire when you need fire. I have had it for about a week now and have used it already, and it showers sparks very well. I actually mounted it to my Leatherman Supertool 300 sheath and carry it everywhere i go. One of the best pieces of edc kit i have bought.

Smaller than i thought, but one of the biggest i could find, its quality. Can see getting about 3k -5k strikes with it. I Did not try it in the rain yet.

its a little heavy BUT nice and large, sparks great. Recommended!

Best Firestarter Ive EVER used! Long enough for a slow pull (Big Hot Spark) windy,adverse conditions? This is the BOMB metaphorically! Can you tell I love this rod?
