> 3 dayThis was so much easier to hold and I started a fire immediately. A spray of fire sparks on first try and fire was going fast, I am hooked on this bigger fire starter! In my bug out bag it goes and camping!

> 3 dayThis rod works as advertised. and is so easy to use. It looks like it will last a long time. I tried it in the rain on dry tinder and a few strikes later I had a fire. I will keep it in my survival bag in my Jeep.

> 3 dayI love this fire starter! Its easy to hold and it is thick and solid. There is thousands of strikes, as its solid magnesium w/black coating. It throws very copious amounts of sparks whether you strike it with the bungee cord attached striker or the back of a blade. The attached striker has one rounded c shaped surface that fits the stick to shave magnesium into your tinder bundle. The striker has two flat surfaces that can be used instead of a knife back. I use the back of my Moro knife companion blade as it is a 90° blade intended for using with a fire starter. The striker also has a metric ruler on one side. Im extremely happy with the weight, sheer quality of this item and as a survivalist, its worth the extra few ounces of weight in my pack.
