> 3 dayI had one of the very old models of black & decker and the difference in suction is phenomenal. Only complaint I have is that I wish I came with a few attachments.

> 3 dayI agree with all the good things people say about the vac., and I have had this vac about a week. It is easy to clean, although debris/ dust collects at rubber flap that has to be finger pulled out. The filter fills up with almost every use and needs to be pulled out and shaken to clean, or can be cleaned with a shop vac, or washed. The enclosed manual states, after its fully charged, you should unplug after 24 hours, which is kind of a pain to remember, plus I store the vac on my floor and have to bend my back to unplug the vac. Otherwise, I really like it, better than my previous weaker hand vac.

> 3 dayIm so disgusted with handheld vacs! I would have loved this one to have 2 levels of power but it is pretty strong on suction. The most frustration feature was trying to pull the Crevice tool out and the killing yourself getting it put back in place! I worked on it for over 45 mins and my husband took a look at it and figured it out, pulling front part of crevice tool out while pushing down on the end of it where the lines are. pretty hard to do but it is doable, even for a 76 yr old. like the compart size, sturdiness. Its better than the Shark I had...

> 3 dayIts lite, easy to handle, easy to store, good size, its powerful ....BUT, its soooo NOISY!!! I bought it to vacuum the steps instead of using my Miele canister v.c. which is heavier. However, the little brush attached to the nozzle in the cordless hand vac doesnt do the job well. I wish there will be a larger brush to attach for this purpose. As a result, I havent used it more than once. Too bad!

> 3 dayFirst, This is a PUBLIC APOLOGY for my previous review which was based on hearsay and prejudice on my part. To all the engineers, machinists, technicians, designers and A SPECIAL well-done to rare upper management individual who allowed and supported such a RADICAL and FUNCTONAL, SOLID DESIGH TO come out of B&D and to REACH THE MARKETPLACE, please accept both my apology and also stand and accept my OUTSTANDING AWARDS for both BEST HANDHELD VACUUM FOR 2015/16!, MOST INNOVATIVE HANDHELD VACUUM OF 2015. Certainly looks as if you REALLY got it RIGHT the second time out. If there is another comparable vacuum in features, function and design on the market at even twice the price I havent found it t to waste my money yet. As far as I am concerned this B&D Swivel 20V Lion vacuum will be the last handheld I ever have to buy. Course I am 76, so I only have another estimated 15 years. *Design has the following outstanding features: 1. Quiet yet powerful Lithium battery powered what appears to be over-sized rare-earth magnet brushless motor. 2. Completely gasket sealed canister and filter cartridge that can be taken apart, IMMERSED if need be to clean off ALL dirt, dust and particles every time you empty it. To remove canister, nozzle from motor ONLY requires a gentle push of a large accessible and well marked button, a simple CW 10 degree turn of the pick-up nozzle with built in brush and extension for nooks and crannies, and 5 degree turn and it literally falls off. The nozzle/canister assembly allows easy pull out washable filter and a gentle push and 15 degree turn to remove pre-filter for washing/hair and debris removal, A dry damp cloth to wipe down motor and canister mounting as final touch. Then an easy reversal of above steps provides you with an almost antiseptically CLEAN (YAHOO!!!) vacuum cleaner, inside and out! 3. As with this type of spin-clean design, the vacuum maintains suction until canister is over 50% full (Max. capacity 1 1/2 cup of dirt, dust and debris ( approx. max 3/8 x 3/4 ).And you would require either a full-house renovation or once yearly house cleaning to accumulate that amount in one cleaning. Manufacturer suggests complete cleaning after every use. I fully agree because you can START with a NEW vacuum every time! 4. Oh and the pick up nozzle has built-in brush and extendable smaller nozzle and the whole thing swivels 115 degrees from handle , hence the name PIVOT. Besides allowing access, this feature allows you to swivel nozzle away from exhaust preventing pushing dust around on the floor! Think statically charged Styrofoam balls NOT being blown around the floor! 5. Priced very reasonable for the included features like the neat way it swivel folds into charging stand taking up only 5 1/2 square inches, Allowing it to store right on your kitchen counter cause, remember how you just rinsed it inside and out, and ready to vacuum up flour, bread crumbs, tec. BUT NOT liquid! As with all EXCEPT wet/dry vacuums you should never vacuum liquids. Based on observation after use to Based on my vacuuming ultra fine fireplace ashes, the filters appear to remove 95-98% of even fireplace ashes (cold), but even though washable, they cannot filter out water. 6. Did I mention its really sleek, soft smooth curves, and easy to hold with full circle handle so tight grip is not required.. 7.Unit is built from relatively thick impact resistant plastics , trade-off between solid and tonnage. The is mechanically sound and should last 10 + years with reasonable care and cleaning along with low impact dropping and minimal use of nozzle as a pry bar. The motor is large for this size vacuum, reasonably dust protected and easy to clean, has sufficient air flow completely around the entire motor and no discernible way to stall it. That said and with PROPER AND REPEATABLE after-use cleaning, proper charging per manufactures instructions, unit should out-clean and out-last any comparably priced vacuum on the market at time of writing (1/25/2016). Finally, I do NOT work for Black and Decker and am not being paid or receiving free use of a vacuum by anyone associated with them, or Amazon nor its vendors. (Not that couldnt use the dough as Im 76 on SS and I paid full price for my Pivot on Amazon.). My background is 50 plus years buying the only unit in the store that doesnt work and cant find receipt, the unit fails one hour/day/week after warranty expires and I have to fix as cant afford a new one. Oh and 30 plus years as a mechanical and electronic/electric design and maintenance Engineer/Manager. Worked as Jack-All-Trades for 25 years in the Electronic Semiconductor field (think chips w/o salt, calories and non-edible, except occasional family pet with your new I, Android, et al. My major expertise is in de-bugging, repairing, redesigning and evaluating equipment to improve function, reliability and ease of use and cost due to early failure attributable to misuse, wrong materials used,, marginal or poor design. I have fully checked out the vacuum over last 30 days and feel confident enough to recommend purchase. Reason for 4 star rating is due solely to lack of data over long term ownership and use.

> 3 dayIts a nice little vacuum. I have been buying them for years. This particular model leaks debris when placed in the charger, the flap inside is flimsy and does not locks well to prevent dirt from coming out. I usually place the vacuum in the palm of my hand and turn it on to make sure debris is all in. Secondly, the batteries died out after about 16 months and to replaced them you have to solder them and also, they are expensive- Its cheaper to replaced vacuum than replacing the batteries. I wish they correct these flaws since it is a nice vacuum.

> 3 dayOrdered this based on many positive reviews in October 2022. We used it about every 2 weeks to vacuum out our cars (1 full charge would work for my mid-sized SUV.) Occasionally, we used it in the home for some crumbs on the carpet after the kids had a snack. I emptied it after each use and was gentle on it. Suddenly, it just stopped working in mid-May - the base charger wont connect and light up the unit - I know the vacuum still works as there is a little battery left and I can turn it on. So am I out $80 after only 7 months? It says on amazon that the product support window is closed as is the return window (as of mid-January.) So my next option is to try to take advantage of the 2 year limited warranty provided by Black and Decker. I will try to update this when I get more information from them. ::: UPDATE: Calling their support line was easy and I got a real human being who quickly verified my purchase and is sending me a new base charger. Phew! I upped the stars from 1 to 4.

> 3 dayWe used this hand vac daily for 3 years. Its a great little vacuum - really picks up dirt, dust and debris. But after 3 years, the battery is getting weak and it now runs only for a couple of minutes before being unusable. Its very easy to get to the battery pack: remove the vac barrel; remove two screws from the case: slip off the side cover; slip the battery out of the case; disconnect the quick disconnect; and, its ready for a replacement battery pack. Except that there are no replacement battery packs! The battery part number is 515LPFC, but B+D doesnt carry them, nor does Amazon nor any of the parts houses. The battery pack case can easily be opened to reveal a circuit board and 5 battery cells. But the battery cells are welded onto their connectors, so they cannot easily be removed, and they are completely covered by the case so that any identifying marks are hidden. It may be possible to break the welds on the batteries, but it will take more than a soldering iron to do so. Without any means to replace the failing battery, that means that the entire unit must be discarded. I give 5 stars for the vacuum, but only 1 star for the unavailability of replacement batteries, so that averages out to 3 stars.
