BLACK+DECKER 20V Max Handheld Vacuum, Cordless, Grey (BDH2000PL)

I bought this for small cleanups in the kitchen but I have used it for so much more. It is the best small vacuum Ive ever had from the pivoting head to the easy empty cannister. The suction is phenomenal and I couldnt be happier with this purchase. You have to get one, you wont be disappointed.

I wanted to take a little be of my time to contribute to that brand, I bought the vacuum 1 year ago, now a weird noise was going on and it was not sucking as before. I reached out to the customer services and in 5min they reply asking 3 information, once I sent it took other 10min and they reply letting me know a new product was on the way :) 4 days later, here is the new product! Thank you Amazon for having a sale on this portable vacuum cleaner! I just got this about a week ago and only used it once for some light vacuuming of dust and hairs which worked perfectly. As directed by the instructions, I charged it for 24 hours, actually a little bit more, before first usage. I know using it once and plus for light usage doesnt speak well for my review but I want to point out that I have some history with Black and Decker Pivot vacuums. My previous portable vacuum cleaner was also a Black and Decker, specifically PHV1800. I had that vacuum for about 7+ years and I love the suction power and pivot design. Of course since its cordless, the battery wore out over time. Now it only lasts a few minutes after a full charge. However Ive never had an issue with it. In fact I never replaced the filter. I was meticulous in cleaning the canister and filter when it was medium dirty or sometimes even just light dirty. For the filter, I would shake out the dark gray junk and then use a toothpick to pick out the junk in each fold of the filter. Again because of the battery issue I thought it was finally time to retire the old one and buy a new one. I was a little hesitant to buy the BDH2000PL after reading reviews of the vacuum going dead after about a month or so for some unknown reasons. After some consideration, I decided to give Black and Decker the benefit of a doubt based on past experiences. I never had any issues with my previous B&D portable vacuum. Also years ago my family got a B&D Dustbuster and we never had issues then. So I am of the mindset that B&D makes reliable products at good consumer level prices. I like this vacuum so far and yes it hasnt died yet. Battery withstanding, this new one is a big improvement over my old PHV1800. It is a lot lighter and also has less mass. The canister can now be completely removed from the main unit for a thorough cleaning without lugging the the whole thing around like the old one. I like that the brush is now integrated into the nozzle. With the old one, the brush was a separate thing that I left plugged into the charger base and was too lazy or never noticed it to take it out and use it. The pivot feels like it has a smoother ratchet than the old one. One thing that worries me a bit though is the vacuum doesnt sound as loud as my old one. Maybe I am just equating loudness with suction power or I am not knowledgeable of any technology improvements B&D has done to this vacuum. I will just have to use it more to see how it goes. Oh one more thing, my old one actually has two On levels: regular power or high power vacuuming. Whenever I use the vacuum, the old one, I naturally push the switch up to the highest point until it stops. I forgot the old ones switch has a middle point before reaching the end. So I guess for my usage maybe the new one is an improvement because it removes the middle point which I never used. But so far this vacuum works. I also like the improvements over the old one so Im convinced this new one is great. :)

This same product was around 40 buck a year and a half ago - corporate greed! The battery is NOT replaceable, of course, so more plastic junk in the landfills. So, we have greed plus corporate irresponsibility. What a terrible company Black & Decker has become.

This is my second hand vac from B&D. After several years I wore mine out and made sure to order the exact same vacumn.

Great vacuum but always a challenge removing and cleaning/replacing the filter. After 3 years and minimum usage, the motor started whining, and the unit became too noisy to use. More than sufficient power and overall design, but it should last longer without replacement.

I wanted to wait several weeks before writing a review to see how it would hold up or honestly how much I would even use it. I never even considered getting one until I was housesitting for a lady with several cats. As I was tidying up daily I realized how handy it was not to have to drag out the vacuum two or three times a day. So I decided to break down and get one myself. She had another model (that was way beyond my price range) so I did a bit of research and have always had good luck with Black & Decker products so decided to give this one a go. I had no idea that I would be using this thing several times every day to get into those little cracks and crevices, to clean up after my own pets instead of having to drag out the vacuum. So convenient, so handy, so lightweight. Suction power is great…. not comparable to an upright vacuum of course but it’s handheld so you can’t expect that. but for furniture, for carpet, for quick around the litter box cleanups, for dogs with muddy feet and for clumsy kitchen spills (nothing wet) this thing is awesome! For the price point I really was not expecting a product this good. And I love that I do not have to keep the button pressed down while in use. The pricier model I used while housesitting you have to have the button continually compressed and my hand cramped up quickly. I have to use this thing for a solid 15 minutes to even notice any fatigue in my hand and I don’t have the youngest hands in the world…. If you were looking for a hand held vacuum for quick, frequent cleanups. For me, this one is hard to beat! Sidenote, as stated above do not suck up anything wet! You will have to disassemble and clean the filters and then let them dry completely before using again. But it does state very clearly it is designed to vacuum dry things only. There is a little flat where the suction tube meets the chamber and sometimes little things can get stuck in there but was able to get out with a wooden skewer very very easily. Small price to pay. Very happy with this purchase

Very convenient, youll need a chopstick or something to free lint balls from inside the filter. Not a big deal. Hopefully the battery lasts because theres no way to swap in a new battery.

This is a little bit heavy, but it has good suction power, is easy to to use, and has extra tools to use on nice surfaces and in crevices. A good buy!

This works waaaaaay better than my sisters very expensive dust buster. It was a 1/3 of the cost of my sisters AND much better. I love it! Best purchase Ive made for cleaning efficiently with a low cost:) I use it everyday:) Thank you for a great product!
