Greater than one weekSince this unit is one-hand held, weight and hand position when vacuuming are really important. Being able to move the nozzle makes it much easier to hold the unit at the best angle for comfort of use. You dont have to lift your arm or elbow at odd angles, so the weight of the vacuum isnt as difficult to manage.

> 3 dayTL/wr: A great performer with minor quibbles. I ordered this to replace the older green and white model that had worked well enough for year as long as I replaced the battery every second year or so. As I was about to buy another $25 dollar battery and go through the hassle of dissasembly, I thought about new battery technology and started looking for a hand-vac upgrade. Interestingly enough all reviews and price point led me to the newer model of the vacuum Id had for years. Ive used it for a year now for the general chores of (dry) coffee spills dusting in corners etc. Its main use is strewn cat litter when cleaning up around the box. Its used at least four to five times a week for this purpose so after a year I feel the vac has had a good trial. Compared to the older model it definitely has more suction and the suction lasts longer. Ive noticed no significant drop in performance over this year while the old model would have already started to show some recharge fatigue. It retains the okay crevice tool/extension and the small flip down brush for whatever a small flip down brush is good for. Break down and cleaning remain exactly the same as the old model and two of my favorite features is how easy it is to empty and the washable final filter. Whats not so good? I have only two quibbles that knocked off the fifth star. Neither are insurmountable but I dont give five stars easily. One: The new upright charger stand style is a downgrade from the previous model and it can be a little fiddly to get it to seat. Two: the routing of the exhaust (same as the old model) tends to blow the mess away from the vacuum just as youre trying to pick it up so you have to sort of chase the bits around the counter/floor from several different angles making all jobs take longer than if the exhaust was a re-routed or better diffused. In summary: Id buy it again and I think it really hits a sweet spot in price/performance ratio.

> 3 dayFirst of all, this is a pretty good design, with superior suction, and a thoughtful, user friendly design. But, as previously pointed out, when the batteries fail, Black & Decker really lets the customer down by not providing a replacement battery pack, even though it’s extremely easy for the end user to access that battery pack for replacement. But, if you’re tech oriented, you can change the batteries with a bit of work and some skills. The first issue, is getting a cell out of the pack, in order to indemnify it for purchase. They’re readily available, but you need that part number that’s printed on each cell. Also, it’s a bit of a challenge to get one out to see that number. The first thing that must be done is to take photos of the battery pack from both sides, for future reference when trying to connect the new cells together. Then, use some needle nose pliers, getting them under the metal straps that connect the cells together, and pry the straps from the cells. But, after doing so, the cells still won’t just slide out of the holder. It’s too tight. But, I used a deep 3/8 drive socket, of a diameter that was almost as large as the battery cells, and I used it, with a hammer, to drive the cells out of the holder. As I said, before I did any of this, I took photos of both sides of the battery pack for reference, so that I would be able to still see how the cells were connected to each other, after they’d been removed from the pack. Then, I inserted new cells into the pack, and referencing my photos, I connected those cells together, using bits of the original straps, and my soldering iron, to reconnect each cell. I was successful. But, I soon came across a problem that made me wish I’d never spent the money for the cells and went to all that work, as about a month later, the motor’s bearings failed, and just like the battery pack, B & D won’t sell you a new motor! I have 2 of these, but I can’t remember which one is older. But, I think it was the newer on that lost its motor. That should mean the motor failed after about 7 years. From what I’ve read in other reviews, that just may be about the most one can expect from it. Even if you can replace the batteries, it really doesn’t make sense to do so, as it cost me around $50.00 for the cells, and the whole vac is only $75! So, I only saved about $25, and I was still stuck with an old vac, whos motor soon failed! But, as I can’t find another brand that has this kind of suction and thoughtful design (& believe me, I’ve tried!), I just bought my 3rd one!

> 3 daySo I quilt, and I have carpet in my sewing room that accumulates thread and fabric scraps after Ive been working. I got this with the hopes that having a handy hand held vacuum would make it easier to keep the carpet and surfaces clean. Miracles never cease because I have found that I do use it religiously whenever I finish working on a project. It does a very good job of sucking up the textile debris I leave behind. I especially like how well it works on solid surfaces like my table and cutting mat. It isnt quite as successful on debris that gets caught up in the heavily textured fabric of my sewing chair. It also isnt great at removing grass and dirt from the carpet of my car. It gets most off but not nearly as much as you would get using a commercial car wash vacuum I do like that the nozzle can be adjusted to different angles and it is very easy to empty once done using it. Overall a great little tool that I recommend quick cleanups.

> 3 dayHace un muy buen trabajo. Mi escenario de uso es el de aspirar los muebles principalmente, pero he podido usarla en otras partes de la casa, como en las mesitas de noche en la habitación, o en el escritorio de trabajo. El cargador puede ser un poco molesto porque no es tan pequeño para guardarlo, pero es lo más importante para el uso de la aspiradora. La facilidad de extraer y limpiar el filtro, es 1A.

> 3 dayLike so many other reviews said, this B&D vac has plenty of suction. I used it twice since I bought it, once on the floor mats on our two cars and the second time on two sets of stairs and work bench. Lots of dirt and small pieces were picked up. Both times the battery lasted 15-16 minutes. Recharge time is between 3 to 4 hours. It keeps a good suction right up to shutting down. I feel that the run time should be a bit longer considering how long it takes for the battery to charge. But I’m ok with it because the jobs I’ll use it on should take less than 15 minutes. Jut not to plan on several jobs all at once. I may come back in a while with an update on battery life, but my experience with lithium ion batteries says it should have a reasonably long life.

Greater than one weekIve used Shark vacuums in the past and decided to get something different this time and I think this is a better vacuum and design. The way it folds over and is adjustable is a much better design I think.
