> 3 dayI originally purchased a Wemo so that I could program my Rocket espresso machine to come on a half hour before my morning and afternoon coffee times, but discovered that the it wouldnt work for me. I do not have Apple network devices, and learned that with my iPhone I could only manually turn my machine on and off remotely, but not establish a SCHEDULE for it. I returned the Wemo and found the BN-Link device. It offers easy on/off schedule programming on my phone via the BN-Link app, and easily handles the high amperage of my machine. The directions for linking to your wifi are unnecessarily complicated--some would say convoluted--but once I played around with it a bit, I found my network and things fell into place. BN-Link would be wise to simplify those directions, because I am sure some people get frustrated and send the thing back. That is unfortunate, because once you figure it out, it is great.

> 3 dayFor years we had tangled with different timers for lights in the house that worked ... for a while. All were different, and cost a bunch. I also wanted to have a way to know when lights were on and off when I wasnt at the house, and to even turn them on and off remotely. These filled the bill. They use your internet (2.4) and after a relatively easy install are ready to go. Once set up, the app can be installed on several devices so my wife and I can check on the lights at anytime we are away. The other thing with timers is IF you want to use the light that is on a timer, you must do the aerobic exercise to find the plug in which the timer is plugged and press the button to turn it on and off. With this system, you just open the app on your iPhone and press button for the light you want to turn on and its done. Same with turning it off. And I thought this will throw the thing out of sync, but it does not. No matter what I have done as far overriding the timer, the timer will get itself back in sync. Also, it allows you to define what days the timer will function. Very adaptable. Most important, I bought a box of 4 units. One didnt initialize. I called the company and after about a 5 minute test, the company determined the unit was bad and sent a replacement. It was great service - and it has a 15 month warranty. So, all is good. Actually I am buying more units.

> 3 dayI had an older mostly mechanical timer for a table lamp. I liked to have it scheduled to turn on and off especially if I wasnt home in the belief it might fool burglars someone was there. This is much more accurate as over time it doesnt seem to drift like the former dumb timer. Using the app was easier after having used it for a wall timer Id already installed and configured. I do not integrate these with Alexa or Google however so if thats your intent you will need to either experiment or look elsewhere for guidance. There is a lighted power button so it can be controlled manually as well. However, if used in a darkened room the backlight might be noticeable. In my case, its behind a table in the living room so partially hidden and not an issue.

> 3 dayI owned 3 Wemo devices that I purchased several years ago, and they had always been very flakey. So over Christmas, I purchased a few of the BN-Link devices for our Christmas tree and some outdoor lights, and have been very pleased with how easy they were to setup, and easy to link them to my Google Home, with no issues. Recently, after a firmware update, all my Wemos stopped working, so after about an hour of troubleshooting and trying to fix them, I just got rid of them and replaced them with these much more reliable devices. I recommend these over Wemo because they are less expensive, and more reliable.

> 3 dayThese work great. Can’t figure out on/off schedule. There seems to only be scheduling on option. Instruction pamphlet was extremely difficult to read, so finally had to google you tube video to set up/pair with my smartphone.

> 3 dayIm really impressed with it. Its a great choice for anyone who needs a reliable smart plug that can handle heavy-duty tasks. Firstly, this smart plug can handle large power loads. I was a bit worried about overloading, but this plug handled my 1800W espresso coffee machine with ease. Its definitely reassuring to know that I dont have to worry about causing any electrical problems. Secondly, the timer function is fantastic. Once I set it up, it continued to work even if my Wi-Fi connection broke. This means that I can rely on the timer to turn my devices on and off at specific times, even if Im not home or if theres a problem with my internet connection. Overall, I highly recommend this. Its really convenient to be able to control my devices from my phone and the ability to handle large power loads makes it stand out from other smart plugs on the market. Give it a try and see how it can make your life easier!

21-11-2024Not rated for it but we are using these outside (covered patio up near the roof in a weather rated outdoor gfi outlet). We have a set of heavy duty outdoor string lights plugged into them that we like to turn off and on wirelessly. I chose this style based solely on where the power button is. The outlet is installed horizontally and the cover makes it hard for the other wifi plugs to fit (the power button on most of them is on the left side and the cover presses on it and turns it off). This one is a little cumbersome but the plug on the back is on the left side and the button is on the right so it hangs down out of the outlet perfectly and the button is clear. The last wifi plug we had was only 10 amps and it got fried in a month. Not sure if the draw from the patio lights was too strong or what, but this one has been working well so far and it was easy to set up (I did not set it up so cannot give any specific details on that).

> 3 dayTired to program these Smart Plugs and never got them to connect. Tried all of them and they would not connect. Now I had two other sets of Smart Plugs and they programed using my iPad, no problem, but these no way. Just before I was about to return them to Amazon I reread the instruction for the 5th time and finally noticed they always referred to a iPhone so i downloaded the app on my phone and Bingo, they programed. No where does it say not to use you iPad, just always referred to the iPhone. What a pain the a**.

> 3 dayYou can turn the outlet on and off by your phone. I can also set an automatic time to go off and back on so my kids aren’t up watching the television at 3 am. I would recommend this product.
