> 24 hourI was hesitating for a while, because I wasn’t sure if the quality would be different from my standard lens, but I’m so glad I made the purchase. In the attached photos the top photo is with this lens, and the bottom photo is with the standard 18-55.

> 24 hourThis is far better then the old pastic nifty fifty and very well worth the money. In terms of sharpness the old and new are pretty identical however, the bokeh is amazing and very much more pleasing to the eye. Ive used it for both video and stills and i was not disappointed

> 24 hourAbsolutely a fantastic lens, it being a prime definitely gets you even more involved in the picture taking process and the clarity and sharpness really is great. Couldnt recommend it enough, and at 125$ it really wont break the bank.

> 24 hourLet me start by saying, Im not a professional, but I do a ton of research and kind of know what Im doing. I was blown away by the sharpness of this lens. I have the old 50mm 1.8 II (nifty fifty) and it doesnt compare. I used to have focusing issues with the old 50mm, but not with this one. In fact, this lens is so sharp, I havent taken it off my camera. I dont want to to shoot with anything else at the moment. I only own the 70-200 f/4L which is considered to be very sharp and the L is for Canons professional line of lenses. I found the 50mm to be as sharp, if not sharper than the L. I know its comparing completely different lenses but its worth mentioning. The lens is a great price and a perfect walk around lens if youre on full frame. Im not a huge fan of it for crop sensor cameras because it isnt really a 50mm at this point, more of an 80mm lens. Dont get me wrong, 80mm can be great for portraits, just not as good as a walk around lens. If you dont have this, I highly recommend it. If you have the old 50 1.8, time to upgrade.
