07-06-2025I purchased this for a friend who was still booting from HDD. For $/gb this is hard to beat and I highly recommend anyone not using an SSD for their boot drive to upgrade.

12-06-2025I bought this in October 2019. The drive failed in April. I had to recover the data and it cost me $3000 dollars. Spend a little more and get a Samsung. All my Samsung drives are older and still running.

> 3 dayDO NOT RISK BUYING THIS PRODUCT!!! I bought it and took my Lenovo Thinkpad in to have professionals upgrade it. The drive had a partition error and wouldn’t allow cloning nor windows 10 reinstall. I had to go out and buy another drive from Staples and the new drive had no issues with being cloned. Don’t take the risk. It’s not worth the price difference and there is only a 30 day return window on the drive, which I missed so now I’m stuck with it. I guess I’ll use it as a secondary drive, which it acts as with no issues. And I did run a surface test and it came back with no errors and still wouldn’t clone.

> 3 dayBought it for video editing. After a week device is not accessible and shows as a not formatted drive. All my data is gone of course (good thing I always have a backup). Big disappointment overall

> 3 dayStill waiting for higher capacity SSDs to drop in price, but I bought this one because I needed to replace a smaller RAID 0. Less drives is less potential failure since RAID 1 also has no redundancy, and I was shooting for extra capacity anyways, so 2TB is fine. I havent noticed any difference between this single drive and the 2 860 EVOs I had in RAID 0.

> 3 dayIt was very easy to install with the video instructions provided by crucial. Cloning my existing ssd was very easy as well. Works like a charm.

> 3 dayThe drive had I/O errors immediately when connected it to the computer. After trying multiple connections it all lead to the drive. Not terribly dismayed as Crucial has historically been superb in their quality, however was disappointed in this drive.

> 3 dayI purchased this to help turn a cheap old laptop -- a Mid-2012 MacBook Pro 13, aka MacBookPro9,2 -- into a decent daily driver with a slightly weak CPU. Installation was extremely easy and painless as this is just a straightforward 2.5 SATA drive and installs just as easily as any other. Performance is perfectly acceptable for my use case and I had no trouble installing MacOS 10.15 Catalina and using the (unsupported but easily enabled) TRIM support for third party storage.
