Makes your system run much smoother in terms of performance, than your regular ssd 2.3. This is definitely something I would recommend for a gaming PC or any system that you need performance out of. This was a definitely a great upgrade. My system would stall at times. It has an old Samsung SSD. 840.

What I learned so far: Watch the price of this: it dropped $10 dollars the day after I ordered it (I cancelled & re-ordered it.) The screw to attach it SHOULD have come with your system. It doesnt come with the SSD because there are too many versions. Do use a magnetized screwdriver to attach it. Dont go King Kong on it. The Acronis free Clone program does work, but it is a SLOW, slow process... be very patient. The last step to disconnect the original source drive.... Im NOT doing that! Instead, use your BIOS to set the new SSD as the FIRST boot drive and remove any HDD references (leave DVD & USB boots as alternates) Then use DRIVE Manager to set sames and drive letters. The Crucial Executive Storage Tool; used it to increase speed and efficiency. Did not have any issues with it, although you can bollox things up if you ignore the warning... read the instructions! This is not cutting edge tech so its not for super-gamers, but its a solid performer from a respected company. In a few days, once I have some backups of the new boot drive I trust, Ill reformat the original 1Tb HDD as a data drive. Danger, Danger... Ignore my suggestion to not remove the Source Drive!! ALL Internal HDDs must be disconnected so the system will set the SSD as Drive 0 & as Primary on first boot! Before the next boot the HDDs can be reconnected. Doing otherwise created a FrankenSystem, booting from the original 0 Drive then loading the OS from the SSD.... APPEARS TO WORK, but it is wrong..

This is a great SSD that tends to get overshadowed by other SSDs. Its easy to install into your pc, pretty much just plug and play. Its great for gaming as youll get better and faster load times, its also great for transferring and downloading files as youll be able to half the amount of time or possibly even more.

This review is an update, as theyre not separating the P5 from P5 plus in reviews. For the non pus model, the product itself is great but there were no nvme screws. I realize most motherboards come with them but at the price tag they could include $1 worth of hardware. Please note the non plus is NOT compatible with a ps5 For the P5 Plus - This is the best budget SSD you can currently get for the PS5. Yes, you will have to get your own heat sink and install that yourself, but that cost is like $10 at the most. you will not find another SSD that even competes at the price, and definitely not one with a heatsink. also ironically, the p5 plus has a screw, just the plain p5 doesnt.

Very fast! Replacing an SSd can be tricky - the cloning software provided worked, but resulted in two drives since the Crucial was twice the size of the original. It was easier for me to backup my system to a memory stick, replace the SSD with the new Crucial and then restore the system from the memory stick.

As bootable device is perfect (less than 5 sec. paired with the rest of components in photo 2). Great speeds and response. 100% compatible with ASUS TUF H470 Pro (Wifi). Because its a NVMe drive you dont have to sacrifice the SATA port which shares bandwith. Im very happy with it. You have to be very careful when you make service with the I/O shield for M.2.

Got this on sale for $40 during prime day. Used it to upgrade an early 2015 macbook air. I was having trouble with installation of the MacOS. It kept crashing for some reason. At first, I thought it was the adapter, but it turned out to be a bad NVME drive. After getting the replacement, everything has been smooth and it super quick.

This NVME has been amazing for me and offers much faster speeds than my slow mechanical hard drive. It has been great for my use as my gaming drive and storing my larger games on there. Definitely recommend, especially if you can get it for the $80 like I did!

I got this to install into my Framework laptop DIY edition. Unfortunately it does not seem to be compatible, so I put Addlink S70 in its place. This SSD drops out when the Framework laptop resumes from sleep, causing the OS to crash. Long press of the power button brings it back. However this SSD works in my desktop as a game drive.

The P5 is my absolute favorite SSD when you compare price to the speeds you receive. It’s one of the fastest with read and write speeds and it doesnt break the bank. That’s a win win in my book, I currently own 3 of these in assorted amounts.

Expand system performance with NVMe technology. The Crucial P5 SSD delivers powerful speed and data protection with sequential reads up to 3400MB/s, along with exceptional Crucial support. Advanced features like Dynamic Write Acceleration, full hardware-based encryption, and Adaptive Thermal Protection provide data security and enhanced system reliability. With thousands of validation hours, dozens of qualification tests, and a 5-year limited , the Crucial P5 SSD is backed by world-class Micron engineering and innovation.
