12-06-2025This is how to install on 2003 outback. Step 1, throw away directions or use them to start the BBQ. Step 2 locate connectors (readily apparent on OPPOSITE side of wheel well from instructions Step 3 plug it in Step 4 ( hardest part) go through the rubber plug down by the spare. I sealed it with a drop or 2 of e6000 to make sure.

06-06-2025Perfect fit on my 2004 Subaru Outback. Its been a while, but if Im not mistaken I believe mine did have the connector on the passenger side they way other reviewers have mentioned.

> 3 dayIt took me about 25 minutes to connect it and put everything back into place and was very simple to do. Im glad I took the risk to try it myself, instead of paying someone else to do it for me. They should tell you that its very difficult to disconnect the connector, so make sure its where you want it before clicking them together.

Greater than one weekI was dreading adding the wiring to my 1996 Subaru after having the trailer hitch installed... but fount that Subaru had made the connection easy to find and nothing more than a snap in connection. Perfect results.

> 3 dayPerfect plug-and-play in my 2005 Outback XT. Took about 30 minutes to install since I had to remove some interior panels to access the wiring and remove the old OEM system that had failed.

> 3 dayInstalled on a 2005 Subaru Outback Limited Wagon. This is probably the 5th or 6th trailer harness I have installed in the past 5 years, and was easily the simplest. It truly is plug and play. Remove the rear mat, uncover and remove the spare tire, and then remove the carpet on left side of the trunk area. Plug connector is located in the back left corner of the car, tucked up behind the panel that houses the rear auxiliary power outlet. Youll probably see it, or a wire, hanging down. Give it a tug and attach the Curt harness. Remove the rubber plug in the bottom of the spare tire area, run the harness through the hole, reinstall the plug, reinstall everything else, tie the harness up under the rear bumper cover, and youre good to go. Less than 15 minutes for me, from start to finish. Well worth the few extra bucks to avoid splicing wires.

> 3 dayI have a 2006 Subaru Impreza Outback. The car is not listed on the applicable models, but lo and behold, I have the plug behind the passenger brake lamp, in the trunk. My guess is many more models fit this, just pull back some of the inside carpeting and see if you can find the white connector (it should be empty, ready for the Curt plug). This was so much easier than using the suggested Curt wiring requiring me to drill and run lines from the battery.

> 3 dayBeats having to use t-taps after identifying the correct factory wire colors, then having random aftermarket wires strewn about. This solution is both easier, and more importantly, much cleaner and more professional. Took all of fifteen minutes in my wifes forester from start to finish. Until I pull the harness from the spare tire well, you cant even tell it exists.

> 3 dayI like this wiring harness because it was very easy to install into my 2003 Subaru Forester. I simply clipped the products vehicle-side connector into the mating connector that Subaru ships on your cars wiring harness. Its a 1 minute job. It works great with my small trailer.
