> 3 dayI play online games with a group of friends every Friday night, and when using this switch I was constantly dropping off party chat for several seconds before reconnecting. This was irritating because A) I couldn’t communicate effectively and B) Because everyone else in the chat was constantly getting pop-up massages saying that I was unable to chat because of a network issue. It took me a couple months before I suspected it was the switch, but as soon as I disconnected my PS5 from the switch and used WiFi instead the problem never happened again. But I do prefer a wired connection, so I’ll probably ditch this one and try another brand.

> 3 dayThis little device detected that I had a Gigabit Ethernet LAN. I only found out after installing this switch on a 35-foot Cat 6 Augmented Shielded Foiled Twisted Pair RJ-45 cable. I was on a 10/100 Ethernet LAN with Cat 6A cable because my Internet modem-router does not support Gigabit. This means all 35 feet were on 10/100 speeds until I inserted this Gigabit switch. Now, only the final three foot jumper between the switch and modem-router is on the slow speed, and my 35-foot cable is properly running at Gigabit LAN speed between my PC and this switch. A green light comes on for power on, and more green lights are displayed when a Gigabit connection is detected over ethernet LAN. Slower connections for 10/100 speeds are also supported by this switch, for which it displays an amber light. There are six lights total with one dedicated to each of the five ports and the remaining one for power on.

> 3 dayPlug n play, easy setup. I would suggest a good firewall, as there is no software. If you are plugging this into a router make sure your firewall is on.

> 3 dayIt has been working great, very easy to set up. Recommend this product for anyone looking for an easy switch to set up. Worth every dime spent on it.

> 3 dayI added two of these switches to expand the ports on my Nighthawk router. Devices attached to the D-Link switches see a substantial increase in lag, 5-6ms and roughly 400mbps. When cabled to the Nighthawk, 2/ms > 800 mbps using speedtest.net. When cabled directly to internet gateway, I get 2ms > 900mbps. My internet connection is AT&T fiber, 1gbps. I have a TP-Link 8 port switch that gives similar throughput, but better ping, 3ms. Running speedtest from 2 devices through the switch yields horrible performance. For most people, this would be an ok switch. Its inexpensive and works, but if you have a highspeed connection and you need it, then this is not the switch for you.

> 3 dayI needed to update from a 100 mbit to gigabit home switch or router, and this one fit the bill very well. * Reasonable cost * Never need to reboot * Fast speed * Hasnt been a cause of network outages the last year I have used it. Really cannot ask any more from a router. UPDATE May 2015: Still working great, It only gets rebooted when I loose power to my house. Solid

Greater than one weekWorks good until you turn your computer off. When you turn your computer off the switch powers down that port. When you turn the computer back on you have to power the switch off and then on in order to get that port active again.
