> 3 dayplugged it in hooked it up and forgot all about it. does all it is suppose to and have no problems with it. Looks great if you stare at it but really just blends in where I needed to put it, not like a medal box.

> 3 dayI needed to patch in my tablet and computer to the same modem, and found the switch would work with high speed capability. This worked fine.

> 3 dayfirst of all, its a gigabit switch, so thats always a plus, especially if you care about your network. I am not going to say this is enterprise or anything, but for a home network, more than plenty. great for the price and plenty of extra ports. i used this one to expand the network in a board room for a client so more people can plug in. wireless is great in theory, but for those of you who know, wired still rules!

> 3 dayReceived the D-Link DGS-1005G 5-Port Gigabit Switch on time as promised; It was a simple PnP hookup to my router; Unit worked as expected, but having hindsight, I probably should have purchased the 8-Port model for expansion; Also would have liked the light display in the front of the unit rather than the top to check the connections, but this did not affect the unit. Would not hesitate purchasing another again from Amazon.

> 3 dayI needed a small, compact gigabit switch, and this fit the need. Two big pluses - its reasonably priced and it works as advertised.

> 3 dayI must say when it worked it was good. But when one port stopped working, I called D-LINK and explained the problem. After 20 min I was told I was wrong . Now I repeated that one port was dead, but she said since the port one worked everything was fine. So to sum it all up, I must be crazy. Yeah crazy for buying a D(ead)LINK.

> 3 dayI have been using the previous D-Link DGS-2205 model for several years without any issues, so I purchased the DGS-1005G without any hesitation. Its an inexpensive (I remember when something like this cost over $100) 5-port Gigabit switch that just works. Plug in the Ethernet cables, the power supply, and you are all set. Some have commented that you cant stack these due to the design, but I would advise against stacking any of these types of consumer oriented units directly on top of each other due to heat which can significantly shorten the life of the product. Instead, I stack them using inexpensive low profile wire shelves commonly used to increase space inside kitchen cabinets. If you have a lot of these, you really should be looking at higher end rack mount units.

> 3 dayThis works perfectly with my Dlink 655 router as a main and this for extra ports. I have never had to reboot it in the several months I have had it.
