I have a bunch of peripherals and I like to hardwire my desktop computers, so I needed to add more ports to my Time Capsule. It had to be fast as I stream video, so I choose this D-Link. It was a snap to setup and it works great. I mounted it on the wall, and just plugged everything in and it worked, no fuss or muss. I have a 4th generation Apple Time Capsule, Denon 3312 AirPlay Receiver, Okidata C5200N network laser printer, 2nd Generation Apple Airport Express, & 2 iMacs. ***Highly Recommended***

I play online games with a group of friends every Friday night, and when using this switch I was constantly dropping off party chat for several seconds before reconnecting. This was irritating because A) I couldn’t communicate effectively and B) Because everyone else in the chat was constantly getting pop-up massages saying that I was unable to chat because of a network issue. It took me a couple months before I suspected it was the switch, but as soon as I disconnected my PS5 from the switch and used WiFi instead the problem never happened again. But I do prefer a wired connection, so I’ll probably ditch this one and try another brand.

Im very happy with the purchase of my D-Link DGS-1008G switch. Theres absolutely zero configuration required. I connected it to my FiOS router and then plugged my Ethernet devices into the switch. Now my PCs and NAS can transfer files at lightning speeds and everybody still has access to the Internet.

This switch provides good value for money and decent performance to boot. I first bought a 5-port version and when I ran out of ports I bought this unit as well since I liked the 5-port version quite a lot. This switch runs cool and installation is hassle-free. Both my 5-port and 8-port switches are running without issues for over a year now.

This product is great! Pros: -I havent noticed any performance drop. -Each port on the D-Link switch has a light on top that illuminates when a device is plugged in. The D-Link switch can recognize if the device is gigabit (10/100/1000) ethernet enabled, or standard (10/100). The lights on the switch illuminate in two different colors - yellow/orange or green to let you know if the device is gigabit or standard. Nice feature! -Looks better than any other switch that Ive seen available. -Setup was simple - plug in the D-Link switch and connect ethernet cables from devices - thats it! -Price was very good. -For 8 ports, the device has a small footprint. -Can be wall-mounted. -Its supposed to be an energy-conserving device. Cons: None! Very nice item - would highly recommend to anyone looking for a gigabit (10/100/1000) ethernet switch!

bought this to split my gigabit ethernet connection between my Apple TV and my Sony Bravia television - just plugged it in to the incoming ethernet connection from an Airport Extreme router, plugged in the AppleTV and the Sony - boom! thats it no further steps. Excellent and well priced switch, thoroughly recommend.

Needed a new expanded capability switch for my home network. This one had the right capabilities for a reasonable price. Plugged it in, hooked up connections and everything just works - no mess, no fuss, does what it is supposed to do. The network speed is definitely a plus when transferring/playing large video files between systems.

This switch has a small profile, low power usage, and flawless performance. I added it seamlessly to my network and it just works great. If you need to add a few devices to your network and do not have enough network ports available, get this and your problem is solved.

Not at all what I expected. I thing it needed a C D to download the program, which was not suggested or enclosed . more information should be enclosed. You know like the idiots guide to computers. I ended up buying another product to do what I needed done
