> 24 hourI purchased these for a recent kitchen project. I needed to cut and polish my quartz counter tops. This kit had grits from 50 up to 8000. The edges I cut and polished were just as good as the originally finished spots. Can’t tell. Another reviewer made a good point, most angle grinders are not variable speed, just on and off. I used an angle style automotive variable speed buffer since it has a 5/8” shank for the arbor pad. Set my garden hose for a constant trickle of water while polishing, and it worked great. If you don’t have a variable speed grinder or buffer, and it’s a small project, I’d recommend a 5/8” arbor adapter for a drill chuck.

> 24 hourI used these pads for the edges of marble tile for my counter top. The grittier pads (50 100 400) worked well however the fine grit pads ( 800 and up) gummed up and left black residue on the tile and pads. I had to repeatedly stop and use wd-40 to clean the pads and marble from the black residue. Im not sure if this is caused by a high rpm grinder or the fact that I was working on an edge as opposed to a flat surface. But, the sheen on the edge of the tiles now match the factory surface, so Im happy with the final product but the pads need to be thrown out.

> 24 hourI used these with a Makita 4.5 variable speed angle grinder with great success on a piece of Stilestone quartz that I cut for a desktop. The manual cutting process with 6 diamond blade on an angle grinder left noticeable saw marks on all 4 sides of the slab. I started with the most coarse grit of this set and was easily able to not only knock back the sharp edges all around, but I was also able to remove the sawing marks. I used a steady and slow flow of water from a garden hose while polishing, and used scrap boards to help direct the water to the particular area where I was working. It took maybe 2 hours to polish all 4 sides and corners with the full stack of polishing disks. The result was a finish that was 99% as good as the factory finish of the quartz slab, and perfectly good for my project. I would easily buy these again and would also seek out an 8000 grit to see if it got me an even better shine.

> 24 hourThese worked as advertised. There are best used with a buffer. Since they are 4 diameter, use with a drill is difficult to get even material removal and polishing.

> 24 hourGreat products last a long time. I just threw away my first 200 grit from this kit last month. Im a general contractor that specializes in tile work, and I often need to grind or polish edges and 200 grit is my default for non shiney surfaces. Last a long time! Much cheaper than the local guys.

> 24 hourWe bought these to polish/ grind our new granite counter tops that we installed ourselves. Honestly, I dont think my husband used all of the pads yet, but the ones he did use he was very happy with. I will mention that if you are doing granite, you should probably practice on a junk slab with the higher grit pads. We accidentally took a good size chip out of the granite when trying to grind a corner to make a rounded edge (but it isnt noticeable when the granite glue was added). After my husband figured out the angle and pressure to use our grinder at, he didnt have any more problems. These pads are great

> 24 hourYou need to write down which are the finest grit to the course ones. The numbers wear off and each of these type of products have different color codes. No paperwork to help with this either.
