Good product it worked as described. I used my Bosch grinder with a router speed control to slow down the rpm the speed control was a true power and is available at amazon. I also used a herzpgrinding dust shrowd and my shop Ca to control the dust. The Herzl dust shrowd is also available at amazon. I dry ground the concrete counter top and everything worked well. The disc held up well the only one showing a lot of wear was the 50 grit.

The pads are excellent!!! The backer pad came unglued with the very first 50 grit. Thankfully I had a backer of my own. I did fourty feet of raw edging to a full polished glaze and these pads and they show very little signs of wear. With the proper grinder and patience a truely remarkable finnish can be obtained!!

Been procrastinating this purchase for a few years now, but I’m totally glad I finally did. I’m not a stone worker just like DIY project and keeping stuff nice around the house. So far I used these on a marble countertop to take out some surface imperfections and stains. Started with the 800 grit and finished with the 6000. The marble of course needed a marble polish compound, but these pads allowed for a complete clean slate to polish the marble. The granite in the kitchen in next on the list to bring back to new condition.

Bought these for a concrete counter top project. Worked really well. The 50 grit is rough enough to bevel the edges but will not take enough material off to reveal aggregate and it struggles polishing the aggregate. If you have a big project Id go ahead and get the 6 or 7. Orbital is the way to go with these otherwise they will walk all over the place.

Make sure you use a low rpm angle grinder or polisher. With too high speeds these will overheat and burn the edge of the granite. Used properly the do an amazing job, and they do quickly. I am a first time granite polisher and polished the edges of probably 40 feet of granite tile. It took a little time because i had so much to do, but was actually pretty quick. It turned out beautiful and was relatively easy to do. My edge polish looks identical to the surface polish that came on the tiles. Beautiful.

I purchased these for a recent kitchen project. I needed to cut and polish my quartz counter tops. This kit had grits from 50 up to 8000. The edges I cut and polished were just as good as the originally finished spots. Can’t tell. Another reviewer made a good point, most angle grinders are not variable speed, just on and off. I used an angle style automotive variable speed buffer since it has a 5/8” shank for the arbor pad. Set my garden hose for a constant trickle of water while polishing, and it worked great. If you don’t have a variable speed grinder or buffer, and it’s a small project, I’d recommend a 5/8” arbor adapter for a drill chuck.

When I remodeled my bathroom using marble, I used a diamond router bit to round over the trim piece I cut, and then these pads to sand/polish the rough edges. This saved me a lot of money compared to purchasing marble trim. Plus I was able to custom size the molding so it would not interfere with light switches, door trim, etc. I worked with heavy rubber gloves and boots, because I sprayed water on the pads with a simple pump up garden type sprayer, and I wanted protection from electrical shock. Having extra pads really helped because the 50 and 100 grit pads tended to wear through prolonged use. This kit is way better than the comparable kit without extra pads.

The polish pads are extremely dangerous. The velcro are so weak and it dont hold. The pads can fly out and cause serious injury. On my first use, the pad flew out in 10 seconds and hit my finger and I thought I didnt firmly attach it. So I tried my second attempt, pressed and ironed the pad to the wheel very hard, it flew out from my grinder in 20 seconds. So I was thinking maybe that just a defective pad. Then I tried another two, three and they all dont secure on the wheel, spinned out, one hit my face, luckily, I wore a heavy duty face shield, it left a big scratch on my face shield. So now you know, be careful with these pads.

Worked on a piece of marble that was etched. Have more work to do on it since just doing initial test. But worked out great so far. Had to use drill since buffer I have did not fit the attachment. That will work better than the drill.

I am not sure why people do not read the directions listed and not exceed the limits of the pad with excessive RPM speeds. I used this on about 60sf of concrete countertop. I used a Harbor Freight polisher with digital readout and maintained 3000 RPM with 50 Grit, 100 Grit and finished with 200 Grit. If you let the polisher do the work and keep the pad level you cannot even notice any wear on the pad. I even swapped it for the second new pad and could not tell a difference. I am very impressed with these pads and would purchase again, but I think these will last a long time. You can dry polish up to 200 Grit and it suggest wet for 400 and up. My countertop is feels glass smooth so I did not see a reason to polish higher grit.
