Greater than one weekFor the price performance is good. Dry pads almost always leave a bit to be desired, but I was impressed at the level of performance given the price. We will see how long they last...

Greater than one weekThese pads were great! I had to polish several edges of 3cm granite for some bathroom vanity tops and they worked great. I assumed this kit was ready to mount on a drill but I soon realized it the foam pad doesnt have a mandrel. You need either a grinder/polisher or be sure to purchase the drill adapted when you buy the kit. I bought an angle grinder and a router speed controller (to slow the grinder down) for this project. Here are some tips I learned: 1. Make sure the pads are centered! Off-center pads cause uncomfortable tool vibration. 2. Take you time & be thorough. I realized after I installed the piece that I had missed a thin strip. Tough to see outside, but you can see the dull reflection under lighting. 3. Tape off work section. This helped me stay within the limits of the work area and ensure I was polishing the entire work area so I didnt miss anything. 4. Take a milk jug and poke a pin hole about 1 inch from the bottom. Fill with water. Direct the small stream of water onto the work area. Move jug as needed to keep area wet. Overall I was very happy and the pads still look brand new. Based on how often I will use them, they will probably last my lifetime. Most of my friends couldnt tell the factory edging from my work so I was happy about that!

> 3 dayI had EXCELLENT RESULTS!!!! Take your time, go slow and in stages.....dont get in a hurry or use them (any of them) in high speeds!! I used mine dry, they make quite a bit of dust so wear a respirator or mask!!! and plan on getting covered in dust (they all do that). I had to do about 8 feet of rough cut edging, they did a great job.....These will probably last me a very long time!!!!

Greater than one weekGood product it worked as described. I used my Bosch grinder with a router speed control to slow down the rpm the speed control was a true power and is available at amazon. I also used a herzpgrinding dust shrowd and my shop Ca to control the dust. The Herzl dust shrowd is also available at amazon. I dry ground the concrete counter top and everything worked well. The disc held up well the only one showing a lot of wear was the 50 grit.

Greater than one weekI recently did a kitchen remodel with granite tile counter tops. What I didnt realize at first was that the sides of the tiles werent polished. I looked up suggestions online and saw products like this were a good option, but also saw theyre recommended for drills at 3-4k rpm. My cordless drill does 1600 and my cordless drill does 2000 rpm. Im on a budget and couldnt afford to buy or rent a really high powered drill, but figured Id take a chance with my corded drill and these pads. I bought an attachment for my drill with a 3 velcro pad to attach these to. What I found was that even with the subpar equipment I was using, these pads worked beautifully! I installed black granite tiles and the edges that had been kind of a medium gray polished up very well. Theyre not perfect mind you, but Ill chalk that up to the fact my drill was just under 50% under powered. If I had a better drill and used the pads wet, Im confident the polish would have turned out even better. For what these cost and the equipment I used, I couldnt be more pleased.

> 3 dayMy project was a granite counter top for an outside BBQ area. I cut the granite with a circular saw and diamond blade, then used these pads with a variable speed angle grinder to polish the edges. I did this dry for grits 50, 100, 200, and 400. When I got to 800 I found I needed to keep the surface wet or else there was a brown haze that would develop. I plugged the angle grinder into a GFCI and kept the surface just wet. I didnt drown it with a hose or anything. I just used a pitcher of water and would spill a little where I was working. When it started to dry up, Id pour a little more water on and keep working. Using these was really no more complicated than using a sander for fine woodworking and finishing. The 50 grit was course enough to take off any saw marks. In fact my granite remnant had a saw mark that must have been on an unseen edge when originally installed. The ridge of the saw mark was about 1/32. The 50 grit smoothed that over in about 15 minutes, going back and forth along the entire edge so as not to create a scallop. I would definitely recommend these and as a result of my experience will not hesitate to try other granite/stone projects.
