> 3 dayTo adjust how a door sits in the frame during initial installation is easy -- just shim the frame. But after the trim has been on for a few years, the house shifts a little or the door shrinks a little, and it needs to be adjusted again. Removing and replacing the trim is a PITA. These accomplish that adjustment without having to take off the trim.

> 3 dayThese shims worked well for me but it is first important to understand where to properly place door hinge shims. Depending on the problem you are trying to solve, in some cases a shim should be placed under either the barrel side of the hinge or under the opposite side. Also, hinge shims may need to be placed under all of the hinges or only need to be placed under one hinge. I also had to trim one of the shims (which was easily done) due to the shape of my hinges. The information that was included with the shims did not cover any of this but there is good information available on-line regarding door shimming.

> 3 dayI bought a new house and very soon the front door starting sticking and would not stay shut unless it was locked. It had been installed by what is laughingly called professionals. I placed two shims behind the bottom hinge, one behind the next hinge up and none behind the top two hinges. Now the door opens easily and latches easily. Too bad the professionals dont know how to hang doors, but luckily the shims are available to home owners so we can fix the shoddy workmenship.

> 3 dayUsed this shim to help get exterior back door on my 22 year old home to close and lock again. Door frame suffered from foundation settling. Fit was perfect for the hinge and shim was easy to install in top door hinge. Had to adjust strike plate on the door also, but the shim helped solve part of the issue. Would recommend this product.

> 3 dayHad the front door to beach cottage changed. The door had un-even gaps (closer to frame on right side but large gaps on top left and left side). The door would not shut without engaging the deadbolt by force. The installer said that it was normal after over $500 install charge. Placing two of this shims by loosening hinges on right bottom and one in middle hinge fixed the issue

> 3 dayIt did the job! My heavy, solid wood front door was leaning some, causing it to stick pretty tightly above the door handle. I did not want to remove the whole door to fix it because its sooo heavy. There were big gaps on the lower part below the door handle and the upper edge hinge side. I used three layers on the lowest hinge, one shim in the middle hinge. I did have to trim with scissors the plastic to fit the shape of my hinges. Easy peasy. It took about a half hour to adjust and readjust to get it just right to realign my door correctly.

> 3 dayThey do the job, could be better, and there just plastic. If you have time to wait for metal ones with the supply chain issues I would, if not these will still cure your immediate problem.

> 3 dayWe broke apart a set of shims from the pack and stacked them behind the lower hinge of a steel entry door. Install was really easy: we loosened the screws and the shims slipped behind the hinge just fine. The only thing was trying to watch that our fingers didnt get pinched between the hinge and frame because you have to push the shims in so they dont show. Its been a month and the gap is still gone and the shims seem to be doing just fine with the weight of the door.

Greater than one weekThings are always shifting and this was such a life saver! I couldnt find anything in store that would fit my needs. I found this and was so happy i did!! Easy for single person instalation! Thankfully I didnt have to take the door all the way off or fight with other shims. I will be buying more for my other doors!
